Your visit to Killymoon can be made even more memorable with a guided tour of the Castle by our own World Host registered tour guides. We can also provide some musical entertainment to compliment your evening, this can be our own in house pianist or a local tradtional folk band. Killymoon Castle is the idyllic backdrop for an unforgetable Wedding Day set in the Killymoon Estate in the heart of Northern Ireland. Killymoon is the ideal sport for wedding photography, also small intimate weddings in our fabulous ballroom. Or you can choose to erect your own marquee through one of our local suppliers. Last week-end we had the great honour of having the Deputy Mayor of Sainte M'ere Eglise visit Killymoon Castle ,along with her husband Dave and guests from Normandy, England the Repulbic of Ireland and the Netherlands.This was such an inspiring visit connecting the dots between Sainte M'ere Eglise and Killymoon Castle . During the winter of 1943 the 82nd Airbourne Division were based in Killymoon preparing to head to Normandy . Sainte M'ere Eglise was one of the first towns to be liberated by the paratroopers of the 82nd Airbourne Division on the 6th June 1944 . Other paratroopers were stationed locally at Dessertcreat and socialized with locals in the Half WayBar Tullyhogue .Local historican John McCann shared tales of the troops bonding with locals and how a great frindship had been set up .
We would like to thank all involved in making such a memorable event happen also all those who attended . some photographes below by Norman Bell.
