4. You are wholly responsible for any content you post including content that you choose to share. Anyone repeatedly engaging with us using content or language which falls into the above categories will be blocked and/or reported to the associated social media platform.

The latest plans for the repair of Exeter’s Trews Weir are beginning to emerge.

The revised plans will see major repairs to the River Exe landmark after reduced water levels revealed that parts of the weir that were previously underwater were in poor condition.

The project will secure the long-term future of the weir, and along with it, the historic Exeter Canal and vibrant Exeter Quay.

A free festive family fun day is coming to Exeter Phoenix this December!

Mind Over Mayhem at Christmas will bring a day of family activities, Santa’s Grotto, stalls, dance and more, followed by an evening of live music featuring Tom Robinson, Sound of the Sirens and TV Smith.

The event is being organised by Health Opportunities Devon, a local community interest company, hoping to make Christmas more affordable for local families.

Exeter’s Community Safety Team is making a real difference for visitors and businesses in the city centre, helping to tackle anti-social behaviour and ensuring everyone can enjoy a safe, vibrant and welcoming environment.

City Council Leader Phil Bialyk and Lead Councillor for City Centre Cllr Lucy Findlay MBE recently joined Exeter’s Community Safety Team on patrol to see first-hand how its visible presence and rapid response is making a difference.

The team works closely with neighbourhood policing teams and the council’s CCTV control centre, regularly sharing intelligence.

The presence of officers provides reassurance, helps deter anti-social behaviour and allows team members to offer help and advice to people in the city centre.

Get snapping, Exeter! The search is on for the city’s best tree photographs, with great prizes up for grabs in Exeter City Council’s 2026 Tree Photography Competition.

It’s the seventh year running the City Council has run the competition, which takes place in the run up to National Tree Week – 21 to 29 November.

The competition is open to everyone – whether living in Exeter or outside – but entrants must be amateur photographers.

The colourful cast of Pinocchio have been spotted around Exeter ahead of this year’s festive pantomime…and that’s no word of a lie!

The show runs at Exeter Corn Exchange from Saturday 12 December to Saturday 2 January, including a number of matinees, signed/relaxed performances and school showings.

Tickets start at £22.50 with concessions for under 16s, students and over 60s. Family tickets are also available.

A free screening of the opera Robinson Crusoé is set to come to Exeter next month as part of an initiative between twin cities, Exeter and Rennes.

This collaboration comes as part of celebration of 70 years of the cities being twinned, with the countries coming together to celebrate culture and collaboration with a performance that can be enjoyed across the world.

The screening will take place on Friday 6 November at the University of Exeter Campus Cinema, giving residents the chance to see the classic opera with music by Jacques Offenbach, produced by the Opéra de Rennes.

An important part of Devon’s artistic history has been secured for everyone to enjoy.

Exeter’s RAMM (Royal Albert Memorial Museum) and The Box in Plymouth have jointly acquired 22 artworks from Dartington Hall, with full funding from Art Fund.

The collection includes works by Ben Nicholson, Winifred Nicholson, Bernard Leach, Lucie Rie and Christopher Wood.

The museums will share the works through displays, learning opportunities and activities with partners across Devon.

A space to remember, share and celebrate the lives of loved ones.

Exeter’s All Souls Day festival takes place at St Thomas Church on Sunday 25 Oct, bringing people together through music, performances, creative workshops and food.

Everyone is welcome. You’re invited to share stories and bring meaningful objects for communal altars.

The community-led festival previously received £350 through Exeter City Council’s Ward Grants.

Discover the sounds, flavours and traditions of Bengal at Exeter Phoenix.

Bangla Cultural Fest takes place on Sunday 25 Oct, bringing people together for live music, traditional dance, food and cultural stalls.

Everyone is welcome - come with family or friends and discover something new.

Organised by BAAUL with support from Inclusive Exeter, the festival has received £1,000 through Exeter City Council’s City Grant programme.

They’re out early, work through challenging weather and help keep Exeter looking its best.

Now 78 outdoor council workers have been celebrated at the 45th Tidy Exeter Group awards at the Exeter Historic Guildhall with the Lord Mayor of Exeter presenting the awards.

Congratulations to Ambassador of the Year Duane Stewart, runner-up Shane Hayman, and highly commended colleagues John Marini and John Brown.

Paul Ellis won the colleagues’ choice Personality of the Year award, while Paul Peters received the Semper Fidelis award for his loyalty and commitment.

Cllr Ruth Williams, Lead Councillor for City Management, thanked Exeter’s “unsung heroes” for everything they do.
