📸 Check out some pictures from our latest session of The Square Table meetup! The group discussed 'The Glencoe Massacre', a poignant and tragic chapter in Scottish history by discussing the background, details, and studying over materials from our collections. If you're a history enthusiast and would like to join our sessions, we always welcome new members! The next sessions is set for July 2nd at 1700 to discuss the Czech Republic!

If you enjoy going for a stroll by the River Ness AND love reading, then this special event is perfect for you! Join us for 'Proud Readers Walk & Talk', a community walk celebrating LGBTQ+ authors and stories as part of ! We'll meet outside Eden Court on Friday, June 26th @ 11 and enjoy a nice walk along the river and through the Ness Islands while sharing and discussing recent reads. We'll finish up at the library for some tea, coffee, and lights snacks. Please make sure to wear comfortable clothing & shoes!

Our stall at Highland Pride was a success! Thank you to everyone who came to visit to get information about the wonderful resources the Highlife Highland libraries and Highland Archives Centre provide! We had Lorna from Learn with Lorna who was very popular (and widely known!) as well as a fun pronoun badge making activity that was a huge hit!

We are happy to announce that we have partnered with Inverness Q***r Book Club! Starting August, the book club sessions will meet the 1st Thursday of every month and will start at 17:30, the discussion for the next meetup will cover 'Dance Tree' by Kiran Millwood Hargrave, there are copies available to borrow now at our library!

LGBTQ+ and allies welcome! The focus of this book club is to discover and discuss q***r authors and stories and, as always, to share and have engaging discussions with others in your community. No registration required, tea, coffee, and biscuits will be available.

If you're one of the many families that come to our Saturday Bookbug Sessions you probably know about the magical musical sessions led by Tom! He was nominated for the Book Trust’s 2026 Bookbug Hero Award which celebrates those who go above and beyond for children and families! With his guitar skills and fun, playful tunes, he's become a rising star! Thank you Tom for all you do 💕

We have Bookbug sessions every week on Thursdays and Saturdays at 11:15, no booking required. 😊
