Reading Cycle Festival returns to Christchurch Meadows next month with attractions and activities for riders of all levels.

The festival will include thrilling stunt shows and exciting challenges such as obstacle courses and balance bike trails.

Local clubs will be putting on activities and displays to encourage people to get on their bikes and there will be several organisations attending which cater to people with special needs.

Bike shops will have various cycles to try out, and mechanics will be on hand to give your bike a quick maintenance check.

There will also be funfair rides, face painting, food and drink, plus a chance to win a bike in a charity raffle.

The annual festival is run by Avanti Cycling and supported by the Council, and entry is free.

Applications to organise Black History Month events in Reading close in just 10 days!

If you're a local group that would like to celebrate Black history and heritage by organising a workshop, exhibition or activity, apply via the link in the comments. Reading Borough Council will promote all approved events on our website and produce a dedicated Black History Month brochure featuring activities taking place throughout October.

There will be something for everyone: a horse show, classic vehicles, dog events area, arena acts, food & drink stalls, craft & trade stands, horticultural exhibition, and so much more!

Don't forget to visit the unique Village Green, where you can relax with food and drinks while enjoying live performances on the stage.
