A FAREWELL AND A HUGE THANK YOU TO FIONA WHITFIELD
This month we said a fond farewell to Fiona Whitfield who has stepped down from her role on the Board of Trustees at Room at the Inn Homeless Charity, Warrington.
Our Chair Alison Duckworth took the opportunity to thank Fiona personally for her support and contribution to the charity presenting her with a bouquet of flowers as a small token of our appreciation.
Being a trustee is an important commitment helping to guide and support the charity as we continue our work with those experiencing homelessness or facing difficult circumstances in Warrington.
Fiona, we are grateful for the time and support you have given to Room at the Inn. On behalf of everyone involved with the charity thank you for being part of our journey and helping us make a difference in our community.
We wish you all the very best for the future! ❤️

💛 A HUGE THANK YOU TO ST PHILIP WESTBROOK CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL! 💛
A massive thank you to all the wonderful children, teachers, staff and parents at St Philip Westbrook Church of England Primary School for your kindness and generosity in donating items from our Room at the Inn ‘Wish List’. Miss Teen Warrington Galaxy helped me lift many bags into my car, thank you.
Your thoughtful donations will help us support those who need our help at our Day Hub in Warrington providing essential items and practical support to people who may be experiencing homelessness or facing difficult circumstances.
Every donation makes a difference. From the smallest act of kindness to a whole school coming together, your generosity helps us continue to provide a warm welcome and support to those who need it most.
It is wonderful to see our local community teaching and demonstrating the importance of kindness, compassion and helping others. ❤️
From everyone at Room at the Inn, thank you for thinking of us and those we support. You are helping to make a real difference in Warrington💛

CAN YOU HELP US WITH A SMALL BUT IMPORTANT DONATION?
We would be so grateful if members of the public could help us with a specific item on our wish list.
🩳 We urgently need NEW MEN’S BOXER SHORTS in SMALL and MEDIUM sizes only.
Having clean, fresh underwear is something many of us take for granted but for those we support at Room at the Inn Homeless Charity Warrington it is an essential item that helps provide comfort, dignity and self-respect.
If you can spare a little extra on your next weekly shop please consider picking up a pack or two for us.
Every donation, no matter how small, helps us care for those who need our support.
Please contact us if you would like to arrange a donation.

Thank you for continuing to support Room at the Inn. Together, we can make a difference. 💛

DID YOU KNOW? EVERY DONATION HAS A JOURNEY!
Ever wondered what happens to the generous donations given to Room at the Inn Homeless Charity? Here's how our amazing volunteers help turn donations into meals and support for those who use our service!
STEP 1: COLLECTING DONATIONS
Our fantastic volunteers help collect donations and bring them to where they're needed.
STEP 2: SORTING & ORGANISING
At our Day Hub, another team of volunteer’s sorts through the donations, making sure items are organised and allocated to our two kitchen areas and storeroom.
STEP 3: INTO THE KITCHEN!
Those who use our service are encouraged to use the kitchens themselves to prepare food, supporting choice and independence. We also have wonderful volunteers who come in to cook group meals for everyone to enjoy from a simple sausage butty to a delicious chicken curry.
STEP 4: SHARING MORE THAN FOOD
Whether someone prepares their own meal or joins in with a group meal our kitchens help bring people together, build connections and create a welcoming community.
Every donation and every volunteer plays a part in making this happen. It's teamwork, kindness and community in action!

Another week of opportunity and a date for the diary in 2027!
Martin’s Moment – 16th October 2026
Another week of change at Room at the Inn. We’ve seen some successful move-ons from our supported accommodation into independent living, which is fantastic to see. At the same time, it’s always a little sad to say goodbye to some of the characters who have been part of our community as they move on to pastures new. We wish them all the very best on their onward journeys and hope they find a safe, secure and sustainable place to call home.
Last week, I mentioned that we had been nominated for the Charity / Community Impact of the Year Award at the Warrington Business Awards Plus event, which took place last night. We were delighted to be nominated and to have the opportunity to showcase the work we do to a wider audience. We didn’t take home the award this time, but we were delighted to see More Than Together recognised as the winner.
Nathan and Ian have done an unbelievable job in just a few short years, establishing their CIC and delivering much-needed support across our town and the surrounding area. Huge congratulations to you both! We look forward to continuing to work alongside you and seeing what you achieve in the years ahead.
Our new website is now a week old (www.roomattheinn.org.uk), and the feedback we’ve received has been fantastic. Members of the public, friends of the charity, supporters and partners have all been in touch with their thoughts and comments. A huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to have a look and share their feedback. It’s very much appreciated!
Finally, this week, we held a debrief with one of our closest partners, The Eric Moore Partnership, to reflect on our successful Gala Dinner and Dance, held last month. It was a great opportunity to look at what went well, what we could do better, and how we can build on the success of what was a fantastic evening.
We’ve also confirmed the date for next year’s event, giving us more time to plan and make it even better. So, get your diaries out and save the date: Saturday 9th October 2027. With World Homeless Day falling the following day, it’s another opportunity to bring people together to raise awareness and support the work we do.
Tickets and table bookings will open in the new year. We hope you’ll join us!

IT ALL STARTS WITH A CUP OF TEA…
Sometimes the simplest things can make the biggest difference.
At Room at the Inn Homeless Charity, Warrington, a cup of tea is so much more than a warm drink. For someone who is experiencing homelessness or going through a difficult time, it can be the beginning of something meaningful.
☕ A WARM WELCOME a chance to come in sit down and feel welcome without judgement.
A LISTENING EAR an opportunity to talk, share worries or simply have a friendly conversation with someone who cares.
CONNECTION an reminder that they are not alone and that people in their community care about them.
A FIRST STEP TOWARDS SUPPORT over a cuppa trust can begin to grow making it easier to talk about personal challenges and explore the support available.
HOPE FOR TOMORROW sometimes feeling listened to and treated with kindness is the first step towards rebuilding confidence and looking ahead.
At our Day Hub we know that supporting someone isn't always about having all the answers. Sometimes it starts by making time showing compassion and putting the kettle on.
Because behind every cup of tea is a person, a story and the possibility of a brighter future.
A cup of tea can't solve homelessness but it can open the door to a conversation that changes someone's day and perhaps their future.
