⚠️ SCHEDULED POWER OUTAGE - FEEDER 1 (Saturday, 29 August 2026) ⚠️

MEC would like to inform customers of a scheduled power outage this Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM to allow our crews to carry out necessary generator repairs and the relocation of power lines near the power plant.

Affected Areas:
- Feeder 1: Entire Feeder 1 excluding Laura VCB

Not Affected:
- Feeder 2: Power Plant to Rita/Anil
- Feeder 3: Power Plant to Hospital

Power may be restored earlier than the scheduled completion time. For safety, please treat all power lines as live at all times. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as our crews complete this important work.

Please plan accordingly and share this notice with others who may be affected.

Power Restoration Update – Feeder 2 (24 August 2026)

Iakwe MEC Customers,

Repairs to the broken crossarm near CMI have been completed, and Feeder 2 (F2) has now been fully restored.

Power has been restored to all affected areas in F1 and F2.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while our Distribution Team completed the necessary repairs.

Power Outage Update – F1 & F2 (24 August 2026)

Iakwe MEC Customers,

Feeder 1 (F1): F1 tripped at approximately 2:00am. Our Distribution Team identified tree branches around the U.S. Embassy area as the cause of the outage. The necessary trimming work has been completed, and power was fully restored to F1 at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Feeder 2 (F2): F2 tripped at approximately 6:00 a.m. from Momotaro due to a broken crossarm on a power pole near CMI. Repairs to the crossarm are underway and are expected to be completed within the hour.

Once repairs are complete, our team will begin restoring power to F2 from Momotaro.

We apologize for the disruption and appreciate your patience as our crews complete the remaining work.

EMERGENCY POWER OUTAGE – Momotaro to Anil

Iakwe MEC Customers,

MEC Distribution has initiated an emergency power outage affecting areas from Momotaro to Anil due to another power line fire in the Island Star area.

Our Distribution Team is currently working to isolate the affected area around Island Star so that power can be safely restored to Anil and other areas where possible.

We apologize for the unexpected disruption and appreciate your patience as our crews work to address the issue safely.

Power Update – G7 Back Online (Monday, 10 August 2026)

Iakwe MEC Customers,

We are pleased to report that Generator 7 (G7) has been successfully placed back on load, and the jacket water leak is no longer present.

With G7 now online, MEC will begin gradually restoring power across the entire island, including bringing customers currently relying on backup generators back onto the MEC grid.

We will continue to monitor G7 and the system closely as restoration progresses.

Power Outage Update – F1 & F2

Our Distribution Team has identified the cause of the outage. A crossarm has broken in the Rubar area and will need to be repaired.

Crews are currently working on the issue, with repairs estimated to take approximately 2 hours.

We will provide another update once repairs are completed and power restoration begins.

Power Outage Update – Feeder 1 & Feeder 2 (9 August 2026)

Iakwe MEC Customers,

At approximately 7:33 p.m. tonight, the entire Feeder 1 (F1): Power Plant to the start of Laura tripped off the board due to a distribution issue. The incident also caused parts of Feeder 2 (F2): Power Plant to Rita/Anil, beginning from the MIHS area, to trip.

Our Distribution Team is working to identify the issue and restore power to affected areas as quickly and safely as possible.
