The Ministry of Finance, together with the National Planning Commission (NPC), continues to engage Offices, Ministries and Agencies (OMAs) on the implementation of Outcome-Based Budgeting (OBB).

This Sunday afternoon, the team engaged the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism – Vote 18, continuing the important dialogue on aligning resources, programmes, outputs and intended outcomes. The participation of all OMAs is critical to ensuring that OBB is understood, owned and effectively implemented across Government.

Holding this engagement on a Sunday afternoon, when staff would ordinarily be resting, is a commitment of all involved to strengthening Namibia’s planning and budgeting process

The budget engagement continues with Offices, Ministries and Agencies (OMAs), with this afternoon ’s engagements with the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy.

The discussions remain centred on Outcome-Based Budgeting (OBB) and Budget Results, focusing on institutional priorities, performance and the expected outcomes of public expenditure.

Today’s engagement brings the Ministry of Finance and the National Planning Commission (NPC) together with the National Assembly, represented by the Budgeting Committee and Management, as part of the ongoing Budget Engagement process. The discussions continue to centre on Outcome-Based Budgeting (OBB) and Budget Results, with a focus on strengthening the alignment between allocated resources, institutional priorities, performance and measurable outcomes.

The Ministry of Finance, jointly with the National Planning Commission (NPC), is engaging the Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations as part of the ongoing Budget Engagements, Outcome-Based Budgeting (OBB) process and consolidation of Budget Results. The engagement provides an opportunity for Ministries to review priorities, assess performance, strengthen the link between planning and budgeting, and ensure that resources are aligned with national development objectives.

Through collaboration and results-oriented planning, the Government continues to strengthen effective public resource management and service delivery for the people of Namibia.

The budget engagement process continues with Offices, Ministries and Agencies (OMAs), providing a platform to assess budget implementation, discuss emerging priorities and challenges, and gather inputs for the Mid Term Budget Review. This mornings engagement is with Ministry of Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Land Reform. The engagements are jointly spearheaded by the National Planning Commission and the Ministry of Finance, ensuring that the review is informed by evidence, implementation realities and the priorities of government.
