The Ministry of Finance, together with the National Planning Commission (NPC), continues to engage Offices, Ministries and Agencies (OMAs) on the implementation of Outcome-Based Budgeting (OBB).

This Sunday afternoon, the team engaged the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism – Vote 18, continuing the important dialogue on aligning resources, programmes, outputs and intended outcomes. The participation of all OMAs is critical to ensuring that OBB is understood, owned and effectively implemented across Government.

Holding this engagement on a Sunday afternoon, when staff would ordinarily be resting, is a commitment of all involved to strengthening Namibia’s planning and budgeting process

The budget engagement process continues with Offices, Ministries and Agencies (OMAs), providing a platform to assess budget implementation, discuss emerging priorities and challenges, and gather inputs for the Mid Term Budget Review. This mornings engagement is with Ministry of Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Land Reform. The engagements are jointly spearheaded by the National Planning Commission and the Ministry of Finance, ensuring that the review is informed by evidence, implementation realities and the priorities of government.
