Narito ang mga mahalagang detalye mula sa naganap na Malacañang Press Briefing ngayong Agosto 4, 2026 kasama si Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro:

-Sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, ang Bureau of Customs (BOC) ay nagtala ng pinakamataas na buwanang koleksyon para sa buwan ng Hulyo na umabot sa P95.848 bilyon. Ang pondong ito ay direktang ilalaan sa mga prayoridad na proyekto ng pamahalaan tulad ng mga ospital, paaralan, at imprastraktura na kapaki-pakinabang sa bawat Pilipino.

-Binigyang-pugay ng Kagawaran ng Pambansang Depensa ang ika-77 anibersaryo ng International Humanitarian Law Month, na naglalayong protektahan ang mga sibilyan sa gitna ng mga armadong labanan. Kasabay nito, muling nanindigan ang administrasyon sa karapatan ng bansa sa West Philippine Sea, sa ilalim ng panuntunan ng batas at ng Arbitral Award.

-Buong pagmamalaking binati ng Palasyo ang tenisistang si Alex Eala sa kanyang pagiging kauna-unahang Pilipino at taga-Timog-Silangang Asya na nagwagi bilang WTA 500 Champion. Ang kanyang tagumpay ay itinuturing na simbolo ng galing at talino ng bagong Pilipino.

-Kasalukuyan pang pinag-aaralan ng Tanggapan ng Ehekutibong Kalihim at ng Economic Team ang rekomendasyong P20 fuel subsidy para sa mga pampublikong sasakyan. Samantala, tiniyak na mananatili ang Php 10 kada litrong diskwento sa krudo hanggang sa katapusan ng Agosto upang maibsan ang pasanin ng mga tsuper at biyahero.

-Isinusulong ng Pangulo ang mabilis na pagpasa ng Progress Bill ngayong taon, na naglalayong makalikom ng sapat na pondo para sa bansa nang hindi mabibigatan ang mga pangkaraniwang mamamayan. Nakatutok din ang pamahalaan sa pagpapababa ng presyo ng kuryente at pagpapalawak ng mga benepisyo sa kalusugan para sa mga manggagawang nasa middle class.

-Mainit na tinanggap ng Palasyo si Honorable Fujita Fumitake mula sa Japan upang ipagdiwang ang matibay na estratehikong pakikipagtulungan ng dalawang bansa. Sa kabilang dako, iniulat din ang nagpapatuloy na runway extension sa Naga Airport na inaasahang matatapos sa huling bahagi ng susunod na taon upang palakasin ang turismo at komersyo sa rehiyon ng Bicol.

Muling tiniyak ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos sa kanyang ang patuloy na pagtatanggol sa soberanya at karapatan ng Pilipinas sa West Philippine Sea sa pamamagitan ng mapayapa at legal na paraan, alinsunod sa 2016 Arbitral Award at UNCLOS.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s renewed commitment to uphold the landmark 2016 Arbitral Award and defend the country’s sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) during his State of the Nation Address (SONA) is being echoed by local initiatives in Iloilo and reinforced by the Philippine Coast Guard's continuing efforts to safeguard the country’s maritime interests.

In his address, the President reaffirmed that the Philippines will continue asserting its sovereign rights through peaceful and legal means, emphasizing that the 2016 Arbitral Award remains a cornerstone of the country’s maritime claims under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Ipinag-utos ng Energy Regulatory Commission sa Meralco ang refund ng humigit-kumulang P9.5 bilyon sa mga konsyumer sa loob ng anim na buwan, bilang suporta sa consumer-first agenda ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos.

Ayon sa Meralco, sila ang naghain ng aplikasyon para sa refund bilang bahagi ng proseso ng Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) kaugnay ng sobrang nakolektang distribution tariff.

Ayon sa kumpanya, ilalagay ang refund bilang hiwalay na item sa electricity bill upang malinaw na makita ng mga customer ang halagang ibinabalik sa kanila.

Sa ika-12 na araw ng ni Vice President Sara Duterte, sinabi ni dating Commission on Audit–Intelligence and Confidential Funds Audit Office (COA-ICFAO) State Auditor Atty. Roderick Wamil na hindi pasok sa allowable expenses ayon sa joint circular ang confidential funds ng Office of the Vice President dahil walang nilagay na sumusuportang dokumento na nagpapatunay ng resulta ng ‘information gathering’ kaugnay ng mga disbursement voucher at acknowledgement receipts para sa purchase of information.

NEWS UPDATE: Ayon kay dating Commission on Audit–Intelligence and Confidential Funds Audit Office (COA-ICFAO) state auditor Atty. Roderick Wamil, wala umanong isinumiteng mga dokumento ang Department of Education kaugnay ng mga programang pinaggamitan umano ng confidential funds.

Kabilang sa mga programang nangangailangan umano ng confidential funds sa DepEd ay counter-insurgency programs, abuse-prevention and control within schools, anti-illegal activities operations, at anti-extremism/terrorism operations.

Bilang bahagi ng layunin ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na ilapit ang dekalidad na serbisyong medikal sa mga komunidad, 13 bayan sa Eastern Visayas ang nabigyan ng mga doktor sa ilalim ng Doctors to the Barrios Program.

As part of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.’s commitment to bring healthcare closer to every Filipino, 13 municipalities in Eastern Visayas have received newly deployed physicians under the Department of Health’s Doctors to the Barrios (DTTB) Program, providing full-time medical services in communities that have long faced shortages of doctors.

The beneficiaries include the municipalities of Liloan and Padre Burgos in Southern Leyte; Can-avid, San Julian, and San Policarpo in Eastern Samar; Laoang in Northern Samar; Zumarraga, Marabut, and Matuguinao in Samar; Caibiran in Biliran; and Abuyog, MacArthur, and Jaro in Leyte.

Sa ilalim ng ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., 2,123 mahihirap at near-poor na pamilya sa Ilocos Sur ang makatatanggap ng P2,000 buwanang ayuda mula Hulyo hanggang Disyembre 2026 upang makatulong sa pagtaas ng presyo ng bilihin at petrolyo.

Rising prices of basic commodities and fuel are putting additional pressure on poor and near-poor Filipino households, particularly families whose incomes depend on informal, irregular, and seasonal work.

In Ilocos Sur, the government’s Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) Assistance program is bringing targeted financial support directly to communities, helping vulnerable families cope with immediate household needs while cushioning the effects of economic pressures.

Launched by the Marcos Jr. administration as an expanded assistance program nationwide in July 2026, UPLIFT provides qualified beneficiaries with a monthly stipend of P2,000 from July through December 2026, targeting families affected by higher petroleum prices linked to conflicts in the Middle East and the rising costs of basic goods.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is bringing the assistance closer to beneficiaries through community-level distributions across the province.

Data-driven assistance
A key feature of the program is its use of data to identify households that are most in need.

According to DSWD Ilocos Sur, beneficiaries were identified using data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) through the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), with priority given to families classified as poor and near-poor.

Alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na paigtingin ang social protection para sa mga manggagawa, aabot sa 20,000 disadvantaged at displaced workers ang nabigyan ng pansamantalang hanapbuhay at suportang pangkabuhayan ng Department of Labor and Employment - DOLE.

Sa kanyang , isa ang Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) at DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) sa mga ibinida ng Pangulo na nagsisilbing pansalo sa mga manggagawang nahaharap sa krisis sa pamamagitan ng pansamantalang hanapbuhay at suportang pangkabuhayan.

Halos 20,000 manggagawa sa Gitnang Luzon ang nabigyan ng pansamantalang hanapbuhay, habang mahigit 1,900 benepisyaryo naman ang nakatanggap ng livelihood assistance sa unang anim na buwan ng 2026, bilang bahagi ng pagpapatupad ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) sa layunin ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na palakasin ang social protection para sa mga manggagawa.
