| CALABARZON is set to sustain and further strengthen its position as the country’s leading producer of chicken eggs as the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Regional Project Coordination Office CALABARZON engages government agencies, local government units, and key industry players to weigh in on the chicken egg industry value chain. Their inputs will be used in the ongoing development of a value chain analysis on chicken egg, a tool that will serve as a guide in identifying and planning investments and interventions for the industry.

| To mainstream Social and Environmental Safeguards (SES) processes into every stage of the project development cycle, the SES Unit, in partnership with the Institutional Development Unit (IDU), conducted a four-day training on September 8–11, 2026, in Cauayan City, Isabela.

The activity aimed to strengthen the capacity of local planners and DA partners in ensuring that community projects are sustainable, compliant with relevant policies, and climate-resilient.

Farmers and residents of barangays Cabatacan, San Mariano and San Jose in Pudtol, Apayao, are set to benefit from a newly completed farm-to-market road that will shorten travel and improve the movement of agricultural products and basic goods.

Implemented by the Provincial Government of Apayao, the improvement of the 5.55-km Cabatacan-San Mariano-San Jose FMR, worth Php145.61 million, underwent final inspection on September 15 after completion under the Department of Agriculture - Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) Scale-Up.

| Living and making a living in a remote area without proper road for hauling produce and accessing essentials services has been a daily challenge for farmers and residents of Brgy. Pakawit in Pinukpuk, Kalinga for many years. It is for this reason that Brgy. Kagawad Dexter Nalog felt nothing but gratitude when a road project finally reached their area, as this, according to him, means easier, faster, and safer travel for communities.

As a trained member of the Barangay Inspectorate Team (BIT) under the Citizen’s Monitoring Tool (CMT) training initiative from the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP), Kagawad Nalog committed to taking part in road maintenance to help it last for generations.

The Improvement of Pinukpuk Junction-Pakawit-Binansagan FMR, which construction began on October 13, 2024, has a total length of 12.508 kilometers. It is expected to benefit more or less 498 households along the road influence area.

Turning plans into concrete progress, implementers from across Davao Region came together for the RPCO-P/C/MPMIU I-BUILD Coordination Meeting, a three-day gathering spearheaded by DA-PRDP RPCO-XI's I-BUILD Component from September 9 to 11, 2026 at Tagum City, to assess the state of rural infrastructure projects under the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project, take stock of accomplishments, and align strategies for upcoming works.

Aprobado na Regional Project Advisory Board kun RPAB ang P105.38 milyones nga Rehabilitation and Upgrading of Taytay Communal Irrigation System sa Badian, Cebu, atol sa gihimong pag-review sa maong proposal karong hapon, Sityembre 15, 2026.

Ang proyekto gilaumang nga mubanhaw sa kanhi irrigation system sa Barangay Taytay sa maong lungsod sa tinguha nga mapalapdan ang mahatag nga suporta niini ngadto sa mga mag-uuma sa Badian, ilabi na sa paghibalik sa pagpananom og humay, mais ug mga utanon sa kapatagan.

: Pangasinan and Ilocos Sur are among the country’s most vulnerable provinces to climate change and local agri-enterprises feel the brunt of it. Similarly, Ilocos Norte and La Union are facing intensifying impacts.

To help protect rural livelihoods, especially those of farmers and fisherfolk, DA-Region 1, through the PRDP I-REAP component, is training LGU staff and DA personnel on developing climate-smart business models.
