The Faroe Islands is an archipelago of 18 mountainous islands in the North Atlantic and is a self-governing country within The Kingdom of Denmark.

Did you know that rowing is the national sport of the Faroe Islands? Ólavsøka marks the end of the rowing season. There is even a local saying that the Faroese are born with oars in their hands – a nod to how deeply the sea and seamanship are woven into their history and daily life.

We wish the Faroe Islands a happy celebration.

Yesterday, we hosted the seminar “Empowering Critical Care with Blood Gas Analysis” in collaboration with Danish company Radiometer.

The seminar brought together healthcare leaders and medical experts from Thailand and abroad to share knowledge and perspectives on the role of blood gas analysis in critical care.

Experts shared insights into the entire testing process, from reducing errors during blood sample collection, to the use of blood gas analysis and the so-called co-oximetry to help timely clinical decisions.

The seminar underlined the value of Danish healthcare expertise and Thai knowledge to find solutions that can contribute to better patient outcomes.

Thank you to Radiometer, all speakers and participants for a day of new connections and knowledge sharing.

125+ years of working together for nature and the environment 🌿🇩🇰🇹🇭

On 30 June, Thai and Danish researchers and environmental experts from the Department of National Parks, the Forest Herbarium, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and several universities gathered at the Danish Residence to celebrate more than 125 years of Thai-Danish cooperation on nature and the environment.

A highlight of this long-standing partnership is The Flora of Thailand, an international botanical research project launched in the 1970s and led by Aarhus University and Thailand’s Forest Herbarium. The project was inspired by the work of Denmark’s first Ambassador to Thailand, Gunnar Seidenfaden (1955–1959), who collected and documented Thai orchids during his tenure. Widely regarded as the founder of modern research on Thailand’s orchid flora, he described more than 120 new species and genera, with several orchid species named in his honour. Today, his collections are preserved at the Botanical Gardens in Copenhagen and Chiang Mai.

The exhibition Orchids of Siam – The Seidenfaden Legacy was also inaugurated, featuring 12 hand-painted illustrations of "Seidenfaden orchids," carefully selected by Thai botanists and artists 🌷

This enduring Thai-Danish partnership demonstrates how diplomacy, science, and a shared commitment to nature can create a lasting legacy. In the same spirit, the Embassy's new Nature Plan reflects a commitment to protecting and restoring biodiversity within our own compound while contributing to a greener, more resilient Bangkok.

We hope it will inspire others to work for better and more diverse nature around Thailand and the world 🌍

🇩🇰🇹🇭 We were delighted to welcome nine Thai AFS exchange students who had just returned from Denmark. Since August 2025, they had studied at Ranum Efterskole, lived with Danish host families, and experienced everyday life as part of the Danish community.

At the embassy, the students shared stories from their time in Denmark, including learning to speak Danish and embracing the concept of Danish hygge. Their reflections showed just how much an exchange year can broaden perspectives and create lifelong memories.

Thank you to AFS Intercultural Programs Thailand for the many years of helping build bridges between our two countries through education and cultural exchange. We wish all the students the very best in the next chapter of their journey. 🇩🇰❤️🇹🇭

🎶🇩🇰 JJ Paulo Thailand Tour 2026!

From Chiang Mai to Bangkok, Danish Afro artist JJ Paulo lit up stages across Thailand with energy, rhythms and dance moves.

Thank you to Alliance française Chiang Mai, World Music Day - Bangkok CLUTCH BAR and 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐡𝐚 & 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐬 | บุดดา แอนด์ พัลส์ for making it possible and for giving a Danish musician the opportunity to perform for the Thai people. It was fantastic to see so many people singing, dancing and celebrating the power of cultural exchange through live performances.

We hope this is just the beginning for many more Danish musical experiences in Thailand! 🇩🇰🇹🇭🔥🎤

Læs hvordan du får dine dokumenter legaliseret her: https://thailand.um.dk/rejse-og-ophold/borgerservice/legalisering

All around Greenland on the 21 June is celebrated with morning songs, speeches, hoisting of the flag, church service, 'kaffemik' (coffee and sweets) and local entertainment such as music, folk dancing and displays of kayaking skills. Many people wear the traditional national attire, kalaallisuut and qaqortumaartoq, and the Greenlandic flag, Erfalasorput, is waving everywhere.

The National Day was introduced in 1985 and is one of several ways to express and celebrate Greenland's national identity, culture, and traditions.
