What a great A Taste of Arundel Grown 2026 it was!

Hosted at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville, our sold-out signature summer event celebrated Anne Arundel County agriculture by featuring:
- A one-of-a-kind menu featuring 23 delicious dishes made by Wharf 38 Executive Chef Brandon Moser using ingredients from 17 of Anne Arundel County’s farmers, watermen, and producers.
- Local wine and beer from Crooked Crab Brewing Company, Great Frogs Winery, Old Barn Brewery, Oliver Brewing Company, Pherm Brewing Company, and The Vineyards at Dodon.
- Powerful words on the importance of buying local by Maryland Department of Agriculture Secretary Kevin Atticks, County Executive Steuart Pittman, AAEDC President & CEO Amy Gowan, and AAEDC Agricultural Business Development Director Shelley Garrett.
- Amazing experiences including a Build-Your-Own Bouquet Bar by Zangs Farm Fresh Produce and Flowers and the inaugural A Taste of Arundel Grown Silent Auction, which raised an incredible $4,260, as well as incredible live music from Aaron Hawkins.

Plus, thanks to the generosity of over 40 sponsors and producers we were able to donate $1,500 to the Southern FFA (Future Farmers of America) Chapter as well as add funds to our Agricultural Business Improvement Grant (ABIG) program that directly supports local farmers.

We’re proud to be representing Anne Arundel County at the Maryland Association of Counties’ Summer Conference, taking place from August 12-15 at the Roland Powell Convention Center in Ocean City.

While there, we’ll be highlighting seven Arundel-based businesses by featuring them at the Taste of Maryland Reception on August 13.

The eclectic menu includes:
- Craft beers from Crooked Crab Brewing Company, Forward Brewing, Oliver Brewing Company, and Pherm Brewing Company.
- Double T Diner Annapolis’s famous homemade Baklava.
- Fresh Bagel Bites and Cream Cheeses from Naval Bagels.
- And last but certainly not least, 13 flavas of fresh scoops from Always Ice Cream Company.

If you’ll be attending, make sure to visit booth 820 during Taste of Maryland for some delicious samples – and please stop by throughout the conference to learn about how we support businesses!

Congratulations to the first food boat in Anne Arundel County, the SS Soggy Bunz, on opening for business!

We’ve been proud to support Toby and Ola Denues throughout the process, and we were excited to help them celebrate the growth of their business at our first-ever on-the-water ribbon cutting this week.

Thanks to two IVP-owned businesses, Chronic Sailing and Capital SUP, for providing the perfect platform for the fun event, and thanks to Toby and Ola for continuing to grow their family-owned business on both land and sea!

Business Appreciation Week is back in 2026, and we are now accepting applications from for-profit businesses that would like to be considered for a visit!

From Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 2, AAEDC staff and ambassadors will visit businesses throughout the county to celebrate their impact on our communities and thank them for their contributions to our local economy.

As our unpredictable summer weather continues, we wanted to remind everyone that A Taste of Arundel Grown 2026 is a rain or shine event - and share that we'll have plenty of tents and umbrellas to keep everyone dry in the case of rain.

So whatever the weather brings, we can't wait to celebrate local agriculture with the community on August 5!

Amy Gowan and Jonathan Boniface were honored to help celebrate Colonel Gore, under whose leadership the Fort has strengthened its partnership with Anne Arundel County as a whole and its surrounding communities in particular.
