Maryland's wine industry was built by generations of farmers and families that has grown to include more than 75 licensed wineries and 1,000 acres of grapes!

Maryland Department of Agriculture recently joined Maryland Wine, and state and local leaders to celebrate six of the industry's founding wineries: Boordy Vineyards, Fiore Winery & Distillery, Basignani Winery, Loew Vineyards, Elk Run Vineyards and Linganore Winecellars.

Their legacy is especially meaningful as Maryland farms recover from this spring's devastating freeze. One of the best ways to support Maryland's wine industry -- and farms -- is to buy local.
