The Bethlehem Health Bureau (BHB), officially founded in 1980, ensures the health of the Bethlehem City community by utilizing the three core functions of public health: monitor health status to identify community health problems, diagnose and investigate health problems and health hazards in the community, and evaluate effectiveness, accessibility, and quality of personal and population-based hea

lth services. For 30 years, the Bethlehem Health Bureau has strived to ensure the core functions of public health for the City of Bethlehem. We continue to assess the needs of and assure services to our community and educate the public in the areas of:
•Injury and Disease Prevention
•Communicable Disease
•Maternal/Child Health
•Environmental Health
•Public Health Preparedness

Our strategies correspond with the goals established by Healthy People 2020, a set of health objectives for the Nation (www.healthypeople.gov/About ). Panorama Produce is recalling 302 boxes of size 9 mangoes that may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The mangoes were sold at select Walmart stores in PA, NJ, NY and CT between August 10–21, 2026.

🔎 Check your mangoes:
• Martina-branded case
• Light blue sticker labeled Agrofepac – Produce of Mexico
• PLU: 4584
• UPC: 07503061948050

No illnesses have been reported.

If you have recalled mangoes, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the store.

August 31st is recognized as International Overdose Awareness Day, the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember those we have lost, acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind, and renew our commitment to ending overdose and related harms.

The Bethlehem Health Bureau is committed to reducing overdose deaths through prevention, education, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery.

International Overdose Awareness Day provides an opportunity to bring attention to the ongoing overdose crisis and encourage meaningful conversations about evidence-based prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery.

Together, we can remember those we have lost, support those impacted by overdose, and continue working toward a future where fewer lives are lost.

🌈 We’re excited to be back at Lehigh Valley Pride 2026!
The Bethlehem Health Bureau is proud to return as a sponsor of this year’s Lehigh Valley Pride, hosted by Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center.
Join us on Sunday, August 30 from 1–7 PM at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks for a day of community, celebration, live entertainment, vendors, resources, and more. Pride will take place rain or shine!
Be sure to stop by the Bethlehem Health Bureau Mobile Health Van, say hello, and learn more about the services and resources we offer. We can’t wait to see everyone there! 💙

The Bethlehem Health Bureau spent the morning focusing on an important part of keeping our community safe: pedestrian safety. 🚸

Staff from BHB, BPD, LVHN, and PennDOT educated motorists and pedestrians about their responsibilities at crosswalks and the importance of staying alert.

As we head into the new school year, students will soon be walking and biking to and from school, making it especially important for everyone to do their part to keep our streets safe. Drivers should slow down, stay alert, and yield to pedestrians, while pedestrians should use designated crosswalks and remain aware of their surroundings.

A few extra seconds of attention can make a big difference. Remember to slow down, stay alert, and share the road. 🚸
