Bismarck Meals on Wheels was formed in 1972 to provide home delivered, nutritious meals to those in need. In the beginning there were no such programs in Bismarck. Later on when the federally funded Meals on Wheels programs were started, Bismarck Meals on Wheels continued to operate. The emphasis was to provide individuals of any age and those requiring special diets, a home-delivered nutritious m

eal. There continues to be no age, income, or dietary requirements to receive meals. This service continues to today. Approximately 65% of all meals delivered are special diets.
