Cooling Stations Open in Monroe County

Due to the heat advisory, cooling stations will be open around the county.

The cooling stations are to help provide temporary relief from the heat to anyone who needs it.

Yesterday, Monroe Fire Protection District had the honor of holding a special ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments and dedication of several members of our organization. 🚒

🔥 Congratulations to Recruit Class 006! 🔥

After successfully completing one year as probationary firefighter, all six members of Recruit Class 006 took the firefighters’ oath and officially received their department badges. Each badge was proudly pinned on by family members and loved ones who have supported them throughout their journey.

Congratulations to all six members of Recruit Class 006 on this important accomplishment! We look forward to seeing all that you will accomplish as you continue to serve the Monroe Fire Protection District and our community.
We also had the privilege of recognizing four of our retirees for an incredible 50 years of service. Each received a 50-Year Service Pin from the Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association, presented by Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association District 17B Miss Flame.

Fifty years of service is an extraordinary achievement. The dedication and sacrifice of these members helped build the department we have today and paved the way for its future. We are incredibly grateful for their many years of service to the Monroe Fire Protection District and the community they proudly served.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to today’s annual MFD Community Cookout! ❤️🍔🌭

We loved getting to spend time with so many members of our community and seeing the smiles, laughter, and excitement from all the kids as they took part in the activities.

A special thank you to all of our MFD personnel—our volunteers, staff, and firefighters—who worked hard behind the scenes and throughout the day to organize, prepare, and make this event happen. Your time, dedication, and commitment to our community are truly appreciated! 👏🚒

This is always such a fun event for us, and we’re grateful for the continued support and opportunity to connect with our community. We hope to see everyone again next year!

Last night, MFD was out at the local high school football games providing EMS standby and supporting our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and fans.

MFD will once again be providing EMS standby at all local high school football games throughout the season. We’re honored to be there when our community comes together under the Friday night lights! ❤️💙
