Join WorldBoston tonight from 6:00 - 7:30 PM at The NonProfit Center for Chat & Chowder: Basketball Empire featuring Lindsay Sarah Krasnoff, PhD, globally recognized sports diplomacy expert. Register to attend at this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/chat-chowder-basketball-empire-tickets-1989388015106?aff=oddtdtcreator

Drawing from her acclaimed book Basketball Empire, Dr. Krasnoff will explore how decades of Franco-American exchange helped shape the NBA and WNBA into truly global cultural institutions. Through stories of players, coaches, journalists, and diplomats, she reveals how basketball became a powerful tool of international connection, cultural exchange, and sports diplomacy.

Chat & Chowder programs offer a welcoming space to engage with expert speakers and connect with fellow globally minded participants over chowder and refreshments. The evening will include a fireside chat conversation, audience Q&A, and dedicated networking time.

Thanks to the generous support of The Lowell Institute, this program is free and open to the public.

5 visitors from India and their liaison recently visited Boston as one of their many stops across the United States for a project focused on “Driving Mutually Beneficial U.S.-India Collaboration on AI.”

The group first met with Ann LaFrance to discuss approaches to AI governance and how the resulting policies differ between countries. They then met with Magda Garncarz from the Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM) and Sanjay Aggarwal, a former WorldBoston board member and AIM-IBC member for an afternoon conversation that revolved around the influence business associations have over the policy making process, especially related to the private sector’s interest in supporting the growth of emerging technology sectors. The theme of promoting healthy startup economies continued during their time at the Venture Café Cambridge Thursday Gathering.

The following day was dedicated to exploring Boston with an Innovation Trail Tour (The Innovation Trail) in the morning and with time to see Faneuil Hall. This allowed the visitors to learn about two sides of Boston: the area’s older revolutionary history and newer technological advancements.
