Juneteenth commemorates the day when the last enslaved people in the United States learned of their freedom. It is a day to honor Black history, celebrate Black achievement, and reflect on the ongoing pursuit of opportunity.
At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Through the power of mentorship, we help young people build confidence, access new opportunities, and envision bright futures for themselves.
Today, we honor the resilience, contributions, and achievements of Black communities throughout history and in our communities today.
