Today, we solemnly remember and honor the souls we lost 25 years ago on that September morning. We remember and honor the brave first responders, those men and women who ran toward the danger and paid the ultimate sacrifice to save their fellow Americans. We will never let those who wish us harm dampen the spirit and the resolve we share as Americans. In this deeply divided time, today should be a day we remember our ability to come together as one nation.

This day is deeply personal to my family and I and I humbly joined Kingston and Plymouth at their 9/11 remembrances to share some words, along with my husband who also shared his personal experiences from that fateful day.

Today, September 10, is World Su***de Prevention Day. In recognition and awareness, my staff attended the first Tri-County Regional Meeting, including the Plymouth, Bristol and Norfolk County Su***de Prevention Coalitions.

Today is about breaking down barriers to mental health care, whether that be systemic, within our own communities, or improving ourselves to ensure that we educate ourselves and others about su***de prevention, who help to break the stigma, and who are there for those we love.

Thank you to my colleagues who spoke this morning, as well as all of those who are involved in this amazing work.

If you are struggling, it’s okay, and there are resources that can help you. You can text or call 988 to get connected to help and someone to talk to. There is no one face or one story of su***de. On World Su***de Prevention Day, I am committed to improving and educating myself in this issue and I ask each of my constituents to do the same.

As House Chair of the Coastal Caucus, I have the privilege of working to make our coastlines resilient, waters clean, blue economy bolstered, and boaters safe. The 12th Plymouth District is a great place to experience one of Massachusetts' finest (and funnest) coastlines - from the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce's Waterfront Festival last month to the Plymouth Foundation's Blue Future Conference next month.
