The member-driven Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics teaches people of all ages how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly, and is the most widely accepted outdoor ethics program used on public lands. Through targeted education, research and outreach, the Center ensures the long-term health of our natural world.

What an incredible few days in the Blue Hills!

Blue Hills Reservation was honored to be selected as a Leave No Trace Spotlight location. From our Leave No Trace workshop and pop-up education, to a concert where LNT joined us and a hands-on stewardship event, it was a great weekend of learning, connecting, and giving back.

The Spotlight weekend was a great opportunity to highlight how each of us can help protect the Blue Hills, whether weโ€™re spending time on the trails, learning something new, helping with stewardship, or simply being thoughtful about our impact. Small actions add up.

A huge thank you to Leave No Trace, DCR, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Quincy Arts Council, and especially our board, staff, volunteers, and members who made this weekend possible. Weโ€™re proud to care for this special place together.

Hike with purpose. Leave Earth better than you found it. ๐ŸŒŽ Weโ€™re excited to share our Earth Series challenge cohort is starting up this September againโ€”An activation to care for the places we explore, while giving back to our favorite non-profit, Leave No Trace

๐ŸŒฟ The Challenge:
Complete 10 Stewardship Hikes + 2 Leave No Trace activities between September 1st and November 30th, 2026.

On each hike, pick up trash or participate in a local stewardship effortโ€”like trail maintenance or clean-up projects. Each sign-up raises $5 for Leave No Trace, and when you complete the challenge, youโ€™ll be entered to win a grand prize!

Together, weโ€™re building a community of Earth caretakers through stewardship, education, and service. ๐Ÿ’š
