Six weeks to go until Astronomy at the Beach! Mark your calendars for Sept. 18 & 19 at Island Lake State Park — Michigan's largest free astronomy event, celebrating 30 years this year. A few logistics to help you plan: getting into AATB itself is completely free and there's no registration required, but since we're inside a state park, you'll need a Recreation Passport on your license plate to get through the gate. Don't have one? You can grab the annual sticker at the gate for $13 plus a $5 convenience fee. Bring a chair, dress warm for a September night on the water, and use the map above to plan where you'll park and set up.
