Camas Living Anything and everything about Camas...Business, schools, community, housing......plus random musings. and Hewlett Packard.

Camas, (approx population 19,383) is a truly unique community. While it has origins as a 100+ year old paper-mill town, Camas has been able to grow and mold itself into a multi demographic/cultural environment where old school values meet new world technologies and award winning schools. From its historic downtown community to the shores of Lacamas Lake and the rolling hills of Livingston Mountain

, this diverse community has it all! The Downtown Camas Association has a commitment to preserving the city’s history while providing a solid vision for a thriving future. The community’s vision is evidenced by its dedication to supporting local business development as well as high tech corporations like Wafer Tech, Sharp Electronics, Underwriters Laboratories Inc. The small town feel is evident with its historic downtown area boasting tree lined streets and frequent town events and festivals, family-oriented neighborhoods, protected open-space, parks, new schools and other recreational amenities — in short providing a balanced community with a quality of life for its residents that is not found in many other areas.

Playground Closures
Three playgrounds are currently closed to the public due to safety concerns and repairs.
• Forest Home Park – A replacement slide is being installed, and the playground will be closed for 1-2 weeks.
• Oak Park – This playground has numerous safety issues and has been closed since November. Due to its age and lack of available parts, it will be replaced later this year.
Crews will begin decommissioning the old structure in a few weeks and the Parks & Recreation team will start work on a new playground design.
• Grass Valley Park – A key component of the play structure failed this week, so the playground is closed for 6-8 weeks while replacement parts are ordered and installed
