🏃🎉 Small steps, BIG accomplishments!

Congratulations to our Striders students who have completed a full marathon—26.2 miles! Our students run during lunch recess, adding to their total one lap at a time until they reach this exciting milestone.

Every mile represents effort, determination, and perseverance. We’re so proud of our marathon finishers and all our Striders who are working toward their goals! 👟🏅

This past Thursday, we celebrated our finishers with a trophy award ceremony to recognize their hard work and achievement! 🏆

🏫❤️ What do Dr. Marzen and Miss Shaw do all day?

For this week’s Find Out Friday, we asked our students to weigh in! Their answers gave us a student’s-eye view of the busy days of our school leaders. 💬

As we celebrate National Principals Month, we’re sending a big THANK YOU to Dr. Marzen and Miss Shaw for the care, encouragement, and dedication they bring to our school every day. From supporting our teachers to cheering on our students, they help make our school a place to learn, grow, and belong.

Join us in celebrating our wonderful principals! 👏

🍎 Big crunches, bold flavors, and plenty of apple opinions!

Our 5th graders put their taste buds to the test during the Great Apple Crunch! Students sampled a variety of apples and became apple investigators, recording observations about taste, texture, color, and more on their apple observation sheets.

Then came the delicious decision: Which apple was their favorite? With every bite, students compared flavors, considered the details, and picked their personal winner!

What a sweet, and sometimes tart, way to practice observation and celebrate the flavors of fall! 🍏🍂

🏆 Little writers, BIG community impact! ✏️❤️

To wrap up our communities unit, our second graders wrote opinion pieces to persuade others why their favorite community places deserved an award, and Ms. O'Neill's class then delivered theirs in person! 🏪✨

Employees were thrilled to receive their awards, and students were met with huge smiles and special tokens of gratitude. Watching their words bring joy to others was the sweetest reward! 🥰

Along the way, students learned more than how to write persuasively. They discovered that their words and ideas matter AND can make a difference right here in our community. ❤️

Miss Hanson's 3rd grade class recently wrapped up Unit 1 of our new Illustrative Mathematics (IM) curriculum! Students worked hard building and representing arrays, writing expressions and equations, using repeated addition, and exploring the commutative property of multiplication.

To celebrate their learning, students created these playful array-eyed monsters! What a fun way to bring multiplication to life and show off their creativity. We’re proud of our growing mathematicians!
