Members of the 3rd Brigade recently supported the Texas Oral Rabies Vaccination Program (ORVP) in Alpine and Del Rio, Texas. Working alongside the USDA and Texas Department of State Health Services, the team helped distribute 280,900 oral rabies vaccine baits across 8,956 miles along the Texas-Mexico border to protect communities, livestock, and wildlife from rabies.

The 3rd Battalion of the 3rd Brigade took part in Radiation Screening and Detection Training during the February drill at the Laredo Fire Academy in Laredo, Texas. The training was led by experienced instructors who traveled from Philadelphia, Florida, Colorado, and Nevada to share their expertise and strengthen our readiness.
A special moment during the event included recognition for Instructor Adolfo Gonzalez, who was honored by COL Armando Garza and staff for his dedication and contributions to the training.
Great work by everyone involved in continuing to build knowledge, teamwork, and preparedness.

The January drill focused on CERT training at the Corpus Christi Armory, where service members stepped into a realistic disaster scenario. As the initial boots on the ground, they applied their training to identify and mitigate hazards, assess threats, establish a triage area, and treat multiple injuries simultaneously. Training like this strengthens readiness, leadership, and the ability to respond confidently when our communities need us most.

Strong work by the 1st Battalion of the 3rd Brigade during the December drill training event at La Sal Del Rey Wildlife Refuge. Soldiers completed a ruck and sharpened critical skills, including rope operations, active shooter response, litter carry, 9-line Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) procedures, and landing zone operations. Realistic training in a challenging environment builds readiness, teamwork, and confidence.
