Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Nature center owned and operated by the City of Corpus Christi Parks Department. The Learning Center parking lot is open daily from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

The Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center is a nature sanctuary dedicated to further knowledge of the flora and fauna of South Texas and to safeguard a piece of our coastal ecosystem. The Preserve has approximately 2 miles of hiking trails and several unique wildlife viewing overlooks throughout the preserve and in a variety of habitats. The Learning Center houses an exhibit hall showcasin

g natural wonders of our region, plus a multipurpose room where classes are held and speakers share their wisdom. Hours of operation for our Learning Center are Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Parking is available on North Oso Parkway after 7pm. Trails are open from dawn to dusk.

Summer 2026 Youth Nature Camps 📣☀️

Join us for a summer of exploration and adventure at the Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve! Our camps for children aged 5 to 13 run from June 1 to August 6, offering enriching outdoor experiences that inspire a love for nature. With hands-on activities, campers will immerse themselves in the beauty of the wetlands while learning and having fun. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended. Secure your child's spot for an unforgettable summer! 🐦🐢🦜🌿🌾

NATURE EXPLORERS (Ages 6 to 8):

• June 1 to 4
• June 29 to July 2
• August 3 to 6

OUTDOOR ADVENTURES (Ages 7 to 10):
• June 8 to 11
• July 27 to 31

WILD ABOUT NATURE (Ages 7 to 13):
• June 15 to 18

OSO GUARDIANS (Ages 9 to 13):
• July 6 to 9

GROWING UP WILD (Ages 5 to 7):
• July 13 to 16

FEE: $125 per week per child

This week, we were able to recover and relocate some non-native specimens from our local habitat!
..Well, they're definitely not found around here naturally, at any rate. ;)

Want to help out? We're hosting an Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup tomorrow morning— Saturday, April 18— at 9:00A.M. Volunteers will meet and sign in at the Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve Learning Center where we will provide snacks and coffee, before we head out to the cleanup sites, where staff and volunteers will pick up and remove trash from beach and wetland areas of Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Holly Hike and Bike Trail.

You can sign up ahead of time online at the link below, or in person tomorrow morning. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear close-toed shoes, and hats, sunscreen, and bug spray are recommended. You are welcome to bring your own gloves or grabbers, but we will also be providing work gloves, bags, buckets, and grabbers for participants to use.
