🎉 That moment when you find out John A. Holmes High School is officially a B school! 🎉

The Edenton-Chowan School District announced in a press release that it officially exited "District Low Performing" status, with John A. Holmes meeting a major milestone and goal of former principal Sonya Rinehart of achieving a B in School Performance Grade.

In the release, Mrs. Rinehart said this accomplishment, "represents perseverance, teamwork, belief, and a community that refuses to let obstacles define what is possible."

📚 Mr. Peto's class prepared to read in Spanish by spending 20 minutes reading a book of their choice in the Media Hub. Then, they shared what they learned within that time.

This helped students practice being enveloped in the world-building of a book, so it's easier when reading novels in Spanish assigned to them for Mr. Peto's class later on.

Agriculture students became detectives for Operation: Save the Show Barn in Ms. Silva's class last week. 🔍🐄🥇

Working in teams, students followed clues, solved puzzles, decoded messages, and completed challenges to save the show barn!

These activities put their communication, teamwork, leadership and critical-thinking skills to the test while applying them to real-world situations in agriculture. 🌱

REMINDER: The Driver’s Ed form for the September session opens today at 3:30 p.m.

The first 30 students to sign up will be accepted into the class.

To sign up:
- Go to John A. Holmes High School website.
- Locate a red box on the right hand side of the screen.
- Select Driver's Education.
- Fill out the form.

Students must attend EVERY session of the program.

From 3:15 - 6:15 PM
