TODAY on Behind the Mission, we're keeping the Campaign Kickoff conversation going! 💙

After helping us raise $12,730 for our Community Care Fund at Tuesday's Dessert Auction, our talented auctioneer and longtime United Way friend Glenner turned the microphone around and interviewed UWTV Executive Director Kayla Smith!

We talked about the success of this year's Dessert Auction, the history of Glenner's partnership with United Way through the auction and our annual Comedy Roast, and what's ahead as we officially launch our 2026 Campaign.

This year, we're working to unite 700 Champions to help build the foundation for the next 70 years — and we're already 17 Champions strong!

Glenner has generously shared his time and talent in support of United Way of the Tanana Valley for many years, and we are incredibly grateful for his continued friendship, partnership, and commitment to helping us strengthen our community.

WHAT A WAY TO KICK OFF OUR 70TH CAMPAIGN YEAR! 🎉

Our 2026 Campaign Kickoff & Dessert Auction brought our community together in a BIG way:

🍰 26 incredible desserts
🙋 40 registered bidders
💙 $10,230 raised through the auction
⭐ $2,500 match from Golden Heart Waste Management dba Shredway
🎉 $12,730 TOTAL raised for our Community Care Fund!

And the Campaign is already growing — 17 Champions have joined us since Kickoff!

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated a dessert, raised a paddle, joined us at the Chamber luncheon, and helped make this kickoff such a success.

This was about more than reaching a fundraising goal. It was the official launch of our 2026 Campaign and our challenge to unite 700 Champions who will help build the foundation for United Way of the Tanana Valley's next 70 years.
