The North Star Council on Aging, also known as the Fairbanks Senior Center, is a recreational day center for seniors, as well as a provider of many services, including ADRC, Helping Hands, and the only Meals on Wheels program for the Interior of AK.

The Alaska Health Fair is on Friday, October 2nd, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 1424 Moore Street, Fairbanks.

🌟 Heads up, Fairbanks Senior Center family & friends! 🌟

We’re taking a little Labor Day breather — the Center will be closed on Monday, September 7th. Time for a cozy cup of coffee, a good book, maybe a well‑earned nap, or a fun camping adventure for the last part of this cool summer😄

But don’t worry — we’ll be back to our regular hours on Tuesday, September 8th, refreshed and ready to welcome you with warm smiles and great programs.

Today we’re celebrating the comfort, companionship, and healing power of dogs — and the incredible “Pawsitive Impact” they bring to seniors in our community! 💙

Through the Pets Need Vets program at the Fairbanks Senior Center, seniors receive the support they need to keep their beloved pups healthy, safe, and by their side. These furry friends offer courage, comfort, connection, and unconditional love — especially when life feels heavy.

But we can’t do it without you!
