Meet Mitch! Today we decided to test his receptionist skills and lets just say he may do better at a more relaxed job. 😋He was very excited his first 10 mins, but as you can see he FELL ASLEEP on the job!🫢 Shhhh don't tell his boss.

If you're interested in setting up a visitation with this sweet guy give our front desk a call (907-459-1451). Our human receptionists would love to set something up for you both!

A142497 & A142498 were left in our overnight drop cages without any paperwork. Please fill out the proper paperwork when leaving animals in the overnight drop cages. Animals left without any paperwork make it more difficult to find the owners if they are missing or being surrendered. They have to be held for 3-5 business days as a stray before they can be evaluated for our adoption program. Please share!

Nova (A142464) is a 6-year-old Lab mix who weighed 54.4 pounds on intake!

06/10/26 This happy girl is Nova! Nova was surrendered to the shelter due to no fault of her own. She is a sweet girl who was said to do well with people of all ages, including babies and children. She was described as an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate dog. She was stated to be kennel-trained, housebroken, and to know her basic commands! However, it was noted that she jumps on people and was known to dig when outdoors. Nova did have some medical concerns addressed on arrival at the shelter including an entropion surgery. She has been medically cleared and is now looking for her new home! However, her new owner will need to continue with her weight loss and keep an eye on any future skin concerns. Nova can be particular when it comes to other dogs; it is very important that slow, safe, and controlled introductions are made to help set her up for success. She was stated to be most uncertain of other female dogs. Nova has no known experience with cats. Nova was said to have lots of doggy toys in her last home, but her absolute favorite was her human’s football. If you are interested in meeting this sports enthusiast, please let us know!

ADOPTED - Tiamat (A142282) is an 8-week-old AK Malamute puppy who weighed 12.5 pounds on intake but will be an X-Large dog!

06/11/26 These adorable and mischievous little pups are back from foster and eager to find their new loving homes! They are small little fluff balls currently, but will grow into rather large dogs so it is important that you have done your research on the breed prior to adopting. They have already found that digging is the best and can be quite the little escape artists (they love to play follow the leader). In typical puppy fashion, they will need continued help with potty training, kennel-training, basic commands, and continued positive socialization. While in foster, they were socialized with children and other pets (they met dogs and cats)! It is important that appropriate introductions are made with all new people and animals. Pu-ppies are a lot of work and a big responsibility. However, they are worth the reward if you have the time to devote to them! If you are interested in meeting any of these adorable friends, please let us know!

ADOPTED! - Lola Bean (A142273) is a 3-year-old AK Malamute who weighed 81.6 pounds on her return from foster.

06/11/26 This sweet mama is Lola Bean! She arrived at the shelter with her litter of puppies. They spent some time in a wonderful foster home until they were old enough to return to the shelter and find their new homes! While in foster, Lola Bean was said to be a very sweet and loving girl! In her surrendering home, it was noted that she does great with people of all ages, including babies and children. Miss Lola did great with children she met in foster as well! Lola was also said to do well with other dogs and had no issues with the dogs she met while in foster. She had no known history with cats, but did meet a couple dog savy cats while in foster and was said to have ignored them. It is important that appropriate introductions are always being made with new animals. Lola Bean was stated to be kennel-trained and housebroken. While in foster, it was found that she does have escape artist tendencies and has no issues trying to dig out of fenced-in areas. Lola Bean was also known to get into trash if the opportunity presents itself. This is something her next owner should be aware of and mindful of. Lola does know her basic commands and is happy to show off. If you are interested in meeting miss Lola Bean, please let us know!

ADOPTED!

Burke (A142443) is a 2-year-old DSH who weighed 10.31 pounds on intake!

06/11/26 This big boy is Burke! Burke arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for his new place to call home! Burke has been a little uncertain in the shelter setting, but has let staff handle him with no issues. Since he was a stray, we do not know his history when it comes to people and other animals. It is important that slow, safe, and controlled introductions are made with all to help set him up for success. Allowing him that decompression time as he settles into his new home is very important. As well as providing him with plenty of places where he can feel safe and secure. While at the shelter, Burke has used his litterbox well and has had a healthy appetite. If you are interested in meeting him, please let us know!
