LEAP is a nonprofit agency that provides residential and community support for people with cognitive & intellectual disabilities in western and central Maine.

At Life Enrichment Advancing People (LEAP), our mission centers on empowering people of all abilities to lead lives with dignity, independence and autonomy by providing comprehensive and individualized supports. Our foundational principle is to provide services that encourage well being, self expression and experiences of joy. We carry out our mission by focusing on three m

ain areas for support: maintaining optimum health, expanding communication options, and having many experiences of joy. This is done through emphasizing healthy lifestyles and autonomy, and providing opportunities for community participation. LEAP supports people in small groups, individualized apartments, in various community supports, and through a small community respite program. We adopt an individualized and holistic approach to tailor our services to each person and family’s goals and expectations. "We believe in the worth and dignity of all people. Today Senior Leadership hosted a car wash and ice cream sundae bar to show our appreciation to our staff! Thanks to everyone who came out, it was the cherry on top of our day!

LEAP central office supports 8 group homes, 18 shared living programs and nearly 100 people in case management. We try to look good for our visitors, our neighbors and the birds and the bees.
Every year, we host an internal competition we call "Pride in Place," where our homes work on curb appeal and we judge the results in June. It's good fun, and the winner gets a BBQ or pizza party thrown by senior leadership. LEAP is community, and we are proud to be part of this one.

This weekend is our Spring Makers Market featuring LEAP employees and people supported as vendors! There will also be food available and an Easter egg hunt! Join us from 10a to 2p this Saturday, April 11th, at 113 Leap Lane. Fingers crossed the snow will be gone by then! 🤞🏻❄️🌞
