On todayโs Fridayโs in the Field, this one is going to be a long one, so bear with us!
This past year has been a big one for Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad, especially as we celebrate our 50th anniversary. Along with the celebrations, weโve also been busy giving our historic buildings some much-needed love!
Our painter, John, has been hard at work repainting several buildings throughout the Village, including the Davison Depot and bathrooms, Flint Meeting Hall, Blacksmith Shop, Manwaring Building (Print Shop), Fowler Barber Shop, and the Volunteer Shack. John and the Village crew have done an amazing job so far, and their hard work has made a huge difference throughout the Village!
And the work doesnโt stop there! As part of our 50th anniversary improvements, weโre replacing 13 roofs throughout the Village. The work starts with the Stanley Schoolhouse and Fenton Carriage Barn, followed by the Wisner Carriage House, Eldridge House, Coldwater Road Chapel, ticket booths, Davison Depot, Depot Restrooms, Attica Hotel, Mason Tavern, Mastersโ C***r Mill, Manwaring Building (Print Shop), and Fox House.
Weโre also taking on the exterior restoration of the Attica Hotel. These projects are no small task, but theyโre an important part of preserving Crossroads Village and keeping our 1800s village looking its best for years to come!
Thereโs a lot happening behind the scenes at Crossroads, and we canโt wait to see these projects come together!
