Supporting Those Who Serve

Last week, members of the Florence Town Council and Town leadership toured the new Recharge Rooms for Florence Fire & Medical and the Florence Police Department. We thank State Representatives Teresa Martinez and Chris Lopez for helping secure funding for these important wellness resources.

The rooms include red light therapy, grounding, sound and light therapy with vagus nerve activation, an infrared sauna, a cold plunge, and behavioral health resources. The Town is also partnering with researchers from Arizona State University and the University of Arizona to evaluate outcomes related to sleep, chronic pain, mental health, and occupational cancer prevention.

This proactive investment is designed to support recovery, improve retention, and help reduce future medical and personnel costs – protecting our first responders and taxpayer dollars.

The Arizona Burn Foundation, Florence Fire & Medical Department, and the American Red Cross are teaming up to bring free smoke alarm installations to your neighborhood!

A few of our crew members attended AZ Fire School this week for intense, required training. Training is one of the most important parts of our job — it sharpens skills, strengthens decision‑making, and prepares us for the unpredictable situations we face.

FFMD also had the opportunity to teach the Emergency Vehicle Operator Course, helping firefighters from across the state learn safe, effective emergency driving techniques. Proud of our team for both learning and leading.

FFMD showed up for the Employee Olympics last week… and let’s just say the competition was fierce. We weren't 1st, but we also weren't last; thankfully, the laughs, teamwork, and memories made it one of the best days of our lives.
Always proud of this crew and the heart they bring to everything they do.

Well, his sweet family stopped by the stations to drop off homemade lasagna for our crews! ❤️ What a thoughtful and generous family!

We’re gearing up for our Fall Smoke Alarm Walk in Florence Gardens and Caliente, and we’d love your help.

This event is a proud partnership with the Arizona Burn Foundation and the American Red Cross as we work together to install free smoke alarms, check batteries, and make sure our neighbors stay safe heading into the cooler months.
