New vehicles are rolling in at Harris County Transit!

Our transit team has added six new vehicles, three electric and three gas-powered, to support ADA and on-demand transportation. With features like cameras, GPS tracking, and onboard Wi-Fi to provide added safety and convenience while you travel.

Rising housing costs are making it difficult for Harris County residents to afford stable housing according to the Kinder Institute for urban research.

At Harris County, we are committed to connecting residents with the resources and support they need to remain housed. Through our Eviction Defense Program, we provide legal services to eligible renters facing eviction and work to expand access to justice for residents
experiencing housing instability.

Ultimately, the courtroom the woman feared could mean losing her home became the place where she found a path to stay because she showed up.

We’re proud to celebrate our newest naturalized citizens during our Citizenship Day Celebration and recognize this important milestone in their journey.

At Harris County, we remain committed to expanding access to naturalization services and helping residents navigate the path to citizenship through workshops, public events, application assistance, and trusted legal-service providers.

A special thank you to Harris County Precinct One, Rodney Ellis , and the National Partnership for New Americans (NPNA) for helping eligible residents take the next step toward citizenship and celebrating this important achievement with our community.

We celebrated the groundbreaking of the Family Opportunity Center in Harris County Precinct 2, funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)!

The center will connect Harris County families with essential resources, including a food pantry, housing and employment assistance, mental health services, parenting support, and nonprofit partner services such as Martha’s Kitchen.

We’re excited to take this first step toward creating a place where families can access support, build skills, and thrive in Harris County.
