Children only get one childhood. 💙

For too many families, the fear of separation creates uncertainty that children carry with them into school, home, and everyday life.

When we talk about immigration, we can’t forget the children growing up in the middle of these decisions. Their safety, stability, and future matter.

All Children Belong.

Friend, Family, and Neighbor (FFN) care plays an essential role in helping parents work, navigate changing schedules, and make sure their children are cared for by someone they trust. Yet too often, these caregivers struggle to access the resources and supports they need themselves, including fair wages, health care, groceries, and other benefits.

As we advocate for in 2026, FFN caregivers must be part of the conversation alongside traditional child care providers. That means recognizing the role they already play in our child care system and building policies that better support the caregivers families rely on every day.

Where would you like to see Friend, Family, and Neighbor care better recognized, supported, and celebrated?

Last weekend, Harris County Department of Economic Equity and Opportunity’s ELQN partners hosted our Houston-wide Community Resource Fair, and we had such a great time connecting with over 200 residents across our community! 💛✨

Seeing the joy from our giveaway winners who received grocery gift cards, early learning materials, and museum memberships , made the day even more special!🎁

Thank you to everyone who came out, connected with local resources, and spent the day with us!

Did you know? With the rising cost of food, many FFN caregivers are working hard to provide nutritious meals and snacks while navigating the financial challenges that come with supporting children and families.

Friends, Family, and Neighbor caregivers show up every day to feed and nurture the children in their care, but some research shows that 34% experience food insecurity themselves.

This , we're asking the community - what can be done to help providers and families access the healthy food options they need for the kids they care for?
