Our newest CAJA volunteers are in the home stretch of training! ❤️💙
For the past several weeks, this group has shown up after long workdays, rearranged family schedules, given up evenings, and committed hours to learning how to advocate for children in foster care. Becoming a CAJA takes more than completing a training class—it takes time, sacrifice, dedication, and a willingness to step into some of the hardest moments in a child’s life.
This week, our class continued that work with an important conversation about domestic violence, its impact on children and families, and what advocates may encounter while serving their cases.
A special thank you to Rachell Pyle, Domestic Violence Family Advocate and Officer Bryce Taets, SVU Detective with the Madison City Police Department, for spending the evening with our volunteers and sharing your knowledge, experiences, and perspective. The opportunity to learn directly from professionals doing this work in our community is invaluable.
We are incredibly proud of this class and the commitment they have already demonstrated. In just a few more weeks, all of those evenings, hours of training, and sacrifices will turn into something much bigger:
A child will have one more person willing to show up.
