Mental Health First Aid Course 💚

Learn how to recognize the signs, start the conversation, and provide support to someone experiencing a mental health or substance-use challenge.

Join Marion County CERT for a Mental Health First Aid course, taught by an IMPD Sergeant experienced in mental health crisis response.

📍 IMPD Headquarters – Community Room, Door 1

Registration is open to the public and limited to 20 participants. The registration fee is $22. Current, active Marion County CERT members who successfully complete the course will receive a refund.

Central Indiana is heating up, with potentially dangerous heat index values reaching the low 100s Tuesday and Wednesday.

Need a place to cool down? Indy Parks cooling centers and Indianapolis Public Library locations are available during regular operating hours.

Plan ahead now and take precautions:
• Stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activity
• Take frequent breaks in air conditioning
• Check on older adults, neighbors and others who may need assistance
• Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle

IMPORTANT FEMA REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Today is not the last day to register for FEMA assistance. Additional registration dates will be announced as they are scheduled.

The registration process typically takes 30–40 minutes if you have the requested information available. This does not include potential wait time.

The registration center closes at 6 p.m. At 5 p.m., the line will be reassessed based on the number of people waiting and the estimated time needed to complete registrations.
If the line is too long to accommodate additional registrations before closing, you may be asked to return on one of the upcoming registration dates.

Additional dates and locations will be shared as soon as they are confirmed.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to assist everyone as efficiently as possible.
