Lately, our office has seen an uptick in complaints about the Child Support Enforcement Division (CSED). However, we are sometimes the first stop for addressing the complaints.

While complaints about CSED are something our office can investigate, we require that people first try to resolve their complaints directly with the agency before we investigate.

For CSED complaints, that typically means working within the division's complaint resolution process and contacting CSED's Complaint Resolution Office. Information about CSED's complaint resolution process is available online via the link below.

Our office is frequently contacted by people with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) complaints; however, ongoing litigation means our office cannot investigate these complaints.

Need help with SNAP? 🥕 On Thursday, Sept. 3, Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center is hosting a SNAP assistance event with Food Bank of Alaska and representatives from the Alaska Department of Health Division of Public Assistance (DPA) on-site to help community members apply for benefits, complete recertification, and get answers to SNAP-related questions. If you’ve been thinking about applying for SNAP or need help with paperwork, this is a great opportunity to get support in person.

Our office sometimes receives complaints about roadside campaign signs. This post contains information on that topic that people may find useful.

As campaign season heats up, make sure you understand Alaska laws about posting political campaign signs! Alaska DOT&PF urges all Alaskans, candidates, and campaign teams to adhere to state and federal laws prohibiting the placement of signs within DOT&PF-managed right-of-ways.

Placing signs on state highway right-of-ways poses safety risks by impairing visibility, distracting drivers, and obstructing the safe movement of everyone on the road. Signs can also delay or restrict essential maintenance activities. To mitigate these risks, we will continue to remove noncompliant signs, prioritizing the removal of objects that impede visibility or movement, especially near intersections or driveways.
