When children sort objects by color, shape, or size, they’re learning to recognize patterns, compare traits, and classify items - skills they will use later in more complex math problems.

Try these fun ways to build math skills in everyday moments:
👕 sort laundry by color
➕ count the stairs as you climb them
🟢 go on a shape scavenger hunt outside
⚖️ use words like big/small, heavy/light, and tall/short

A day to learn, connect and grow together!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year's Early Childhood Fall Symposium.

We loved bringing together early childhood educators and professionals from across our community for a day of learning, connection and rediscovering the joy in the work we do.

Educators spent the day connecting, sharing ideas and learning from one another, with breakout sessions offering opportunities to explore new strategies while diving deeper into the topics they're most passionate about.

Here's to continuing to learn from one another, finding joy in our work and growing together!

That's a Fact Friday - have you heard of the Rouge Test?

Researchers secretly put a dot of red rouge on a baby's nose & put them in front of a mirror. Younger infants do not react to their reflection in a way that shows they understand they are looking at themselves. BUT, babies between 15 -24 months of age start reacting to the image by trying to touch their own noses and inspect the "dot." This tells us when toddlers first develop a sense of self-awareness. So cool!
