That's a Fact Friday - is Elmo real?

During the preschool years, yes, children are engaging in pretend play and making up their own fantasy stories. But, it isn't until after age 5 that children start understanding the difference between "real" and "fantasy" on SCREENS. This is another reason why we grown-ups need to monitor what programming young children are watching!
