On Friday, May 22, 2026, just before 8pm, Lewiston Police Officers received a FLOCK alert indicating that a stolen vehicle out of Marlborough, Massachusetts, was operating in the downtown area. The vehicle was identified as a Ford dual-wheeled dump truck.
Officers located the stolen vehicle in the area of Bartlett Street and Walnut Street. As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it pulled into the rear parking lot of 84 Walnut Street. Realizing the vehicle had nowhere to go, the suspect vehicle intentionally rammed into a cruiser, totaling the vehicle.
Officers continued pursuing the vehicle down Howe Street and to the rear of Longley School, where the vehicle crashed into the playground fence. Patrol officers were able to apprehend the occupants as they attempted to flee from the disabled vehicle.
The driver was identified as 23yo, Antonio Moralespijoan, of Marlborough, MA., and was charged with:
Reckless Conduct
Aggravated Criminal Mischief
Refusing to Submit to Arrest
Leaving the Scene of an Accident
Theft by Receiving Stolen Property
Theft by Unauthorized Use of Property
A passenger, identified as 20yo, Angelika Almeida, of Lawrence, MA., was charged with:
Theft by Unauthorized Use of Property
Possession of Stolen Property
A third passenger, identified as 37yo, Steven Grossi, of Lowell, MA, was charged with:
Theft by Unauthorized Use of Property
Possession of Stolen Property
Refusing to Submit to Arrest
The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Marlborough, Massachusetts, at approximately 7:25 a.m. Friday morning. Lewiston Police believe the suspects, all from Massachusetts, were in Lewiston to continue their crime spree.
It should be noted that an officer pursuing the suspects following the crash sustained a large laceration to the back of his head after coming into contact with the mangled fence. The officer was transported to St. Mary's Regional Medical Center by a fellow officer, where he received seven staples to close the laceration. Fortunately, the officer operating the cruiser that was rammed was uninjured.
