Spotting words and boosting reading skills! 🔦🎃
Ms. McElhose along with Mrs. Gomez-Short had their 1st graders participate in a classroom scoot, using flashlights to reveal long i, long a, and tricky words under pumpkins and leaves—then practiced writing each one three times! Learning is always an adventure in 1st grade! 🍁📝

We know each of you wish your child to be at their best each day. Ensuring they have a good night's rest is a big factor in their school day success. To support this in a fun way, our school will be taking part in the first wellness focus of the year, entitled Book, Bed and Beyond. Activities will focus on using boosting reading and pre-bedtime habits, as well as them learning about how much sleep they are receiving each night.

Younger scholars may need some guidance from you in determining their goal bedtime. This may be your favorite week as a parent, : ) historically: scholars get very serious about bedtime during sleep focus wellness weeks. It's a great chance to start fresh as a family with bedtime routines.

I will attach the two challenges we will be completing as a school below. They will complete the completion form at the end of the week with their classroom teacher. Please help to ensure it's returned by Friday Oct 30th. Each child who returns their sheet by the due date will enter in for a drawing.

To add to the efforts, we will be having a dress up spirit week to celebrate this Fall challenge next week. Look below to see what the theme is each day next week to connect to bedtime or reading.

Thanks as always for working as a team with us in building a bright future for your scholar.
Keep being AWESOME!
Ms. Nutt

📿 Connecting math, creativity, and learning!
Our 2nd Grade students in Miss Nielsen's class got hands-on with a "World of Math" activity where they created colorful paper necklaces to explore patterns, counting, and spatial reasoning! 🎨📏 Learning math concepts becomes so much more fun when you can wear your hard work.
Way to go, young mathematicians! 🌟
