Last week, MAFR held a fire extinguisher class with Four Directions Treatment and Recovery. Residents and staff learned about fire safety and got to practice using a fire extinguisher. Today, we remember those who sacrificed everything for people they didn’t know. They ran towards danger, when everyone else ran away. 343 FDNY firefighters and 72 NYPD were lost that day and countless more continue to die from exposures that day. Mescalero Fire and Rescue honored their sacrifice today with over an hour of stair climbs. If you‘re in Alamogordo, please keep an eye out for the 9/11 memorial, where one of our trucks and two of our own will memorialize all the innocent lives lost that day.
