Today is : an international day to bring awareness and support to survivors of sexual assault.

The Denim Day campaign began after a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where a r**e conviction was overturned because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans she must have helped the person who r**ed her remove her jeans, thereby implying consent. The following day, the women in the Italian Parliament came to work wearing jeans in solidarity with the victim. Since then, what started as a local campaign to bring awareness to victim blaming and destructive myths that surround sexual violence has grown into a movement.

Sexual assault affects everyone. 1 out of every 6 American women and 1 out of every 33 American men has been the victim of an attempted or completed r**e.

Show your support for sexual assault and r**e survivors today by wearing jeans, sharing resources, and talking with your community about sexual assault and the importance of consent.

Sentry grocery store planned at 64th and Silver Spring on Milwaukee's northwest side

This is a victory for so many residents who made their voices heard about the need for a grocery store in their neighborhood, and worked to move the effort forward.

We will continue working with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Choice Neighborhood Initiative - Milwaukee, Havenwoods Edc, and the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee to provide these Milwaukeeans with the services and resources they deserve.

A Brookfield businessman is in the process of transforming a long blighted, former Kohl’s Food Store space at a shopping center on West Silver Spring Drive near North 64 Street on Milwaukee northwest side in to the first full-fledged supermarket that area has had in years.

Dear Members of the Fire
and Police Commission,
We are very upset with the police working with ICE. You have separated families , put much strain on the families and have

darkened the name of the U.S. We are a nation of immigrants. We all came here from other places. What gives us the right to deny that privilege to others who are seeking a better life? We will pay for this in the end. So sad! Peace,
Don and Roberta Timmerman, 1120 N 21st St., Milwaukee WI 53233
You guys really have better things to do than wasting my tax dollars arresting people for cannabis. even if it was a considerable amount. I can see and hear people selling crack outside as I write this. With all the states surrounding us now with legal cannabis, we are now an island. That bust will be peanuts with legal cannabis just next door in Chicago.
The City of Milwaukee is a drivers nightmare. Driving laws are not enforced there are an alarming number of cars driving around with obstructed license plates covered with darkly tinted covers, many cars have absolutely no license plates, the majority of drivers ignore stop signs, intersection lights are often broken and left that way for more than three days at a time huge intersection lights like right now Morgan and 13th Streets' traffic lights have been flashing red for both ways for the past 3 days and will remain that way until at the earliest Monday .. considering Milwaukee residents apparently have no care to follow the laws even the simple ones like it's against the law to go 55 in a 30 most of the drivers are inconsiderate and the rules of a 4way stop sign being dependent upon when traffic lights are broke is ignorant considering common driving laws are not respected or enforced. They don't even take care of their roads during snow storms causing even more danger on them. I almost died this morning and got the finger from one of these majority drivers in Milwaukee as they broke the law and I'm so happy I do not live here, I've never missed the roads of Boston, MA so much, and can feel safe again driving when I leave. What a disgraceful city.
Will any of this include affordable housing? Alderman Tony Zielinski This is such precious land
I really wish , city start planting trees that will produce for animals. I like to see more berry , apple or flowering trees even acorn pecan almonds etc. I believe city keep planting these trees that have no use for animal live except being refugee . I still can’t believe city did not honk of this before . Maybe trees that city planting are the cheapest ones. Any comments ?

As solution let neighbors decide what type of trees they would like to see in their area? Also let them plant trees maybe buy it from their own pocket however city have help maintain them

I personally like my trees in my are gone and plant something like crab apple trees if not something like more berry trees.

What do you think ?
KK & Morgan.

I had to pop the curb, almost injured myself.
Since it's obvious to me that the area of the former Northridge Mall probably won't ever support an enclosed shopping mall ever again because that format has become passe, couldn't that parcel be cleared and put up for sale to some developer who has a vision for a new use?
Thanks again city of milwaukee
How many times a day do these bridges go up and down and for how many different boats? Seems like the amount of traffic jams these bridges create should be a higher priotity than 1 or 2 businesses making $. Either the times of day they can be used needs to be adjusted or these taller boats should just not be allowed to pass..
This is the future. The near future. Trolleys are 100 years ago. Milwaukee should look at being a progressive city not turning back a century and wasting tax dollars.
Why does the Land Management System need a login just to run a basic search?
What an interesting concept. Not necessarily the whole foraging for food theme, but having a floating green space that can be moved around the city.
