Milwaukee breaks ground on Walnut Circle and Josey Heights subdivisions
Subdivision homeowners purchase lots for $1 and the first 10 buyers are eligible to receive a $30,000 forgivable loan.
[ICYMI] New Home Construction at Walnut Circle and Josey Heights! The City of Milwaukee hosted a groundbreaking for new homes in two City-developed subdivisions at Walnut Circle and Josey Heights on Tuesday. The owners of the new houses took advantage of the City’s incentives of one dollar lots and a $30,000 forgivable grant.
Walnut Circle and Josey Heights were developed in the mid-2000s to spur new home construction and owner occupancy. These subdivisions follow a long line of new home construction and investment in the area preceded by Johnson’s Park, City Homes and the Lindsay Heights developments.

[IN THE NEWS] “First of 10 new homes breaks ground in stalled Lindsay Heights subdivisions.
#Milwaukee officials pledged funds to support 10 new houses to be built in the #JoseyHeights and #WalnutCircle neighborhoods.”
A house breaking ground Tuesday with a $30,000 Milwaukee grant is another step toward establishing a real market for new construction of single-family homes in the Lindsay Heights neighborhood.
Reminder: Winter Parking Regulations in Effect! Potential for Snow Emergency Declaration Requiring Alternate Side Parking.
As major snowfall is forecasted, the @cityofmilwaukee Department of Public Works reminds the public of current December 1 to March 1 winter parking regulations and potential parking regulations if a snow emergency is declared.
Winter Parking Regulations – December 1 to March 1:
◽️Posted signs take precedence. Please read the street signs for winter parking instructions BEFORE YOU PARK.
◽️NO PARKING is allowed on through highways and bus routes from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.
When a Snow Emergency is Declared:
◽️Alternate side parking is required city-wide from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. EXCEPT where posted as No Parking and on through highways and bus routes, where parking is not allowed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
◽️On even-numbered calendar days (before midnight) a vehicle must be legally parked on the side of the street with even house numbers; on odd-numbered calendar days (before midnight) a vehicle must be parked on the side of the street with odd house numbers.
◽️Proper parking is vital as it allows snow and ice equipment better access to clear the parking lanes and reach the curb. It also allows us to be more efficient in plowing rather than weaving in and around cars.
Stay informed:
◽️Sign up for Parking Alerts: text alerts at milwaukeeparkingalerts.com and/or E-Notify email messages at milwaukee.gov/enotify.
◽️Follow DPW on Facebook and Twitter – both @milwaukeedpw

Regulations requiring a valid overnight permit or temporary overnight permission to park on city streets still apply from December 1 to March 1.
