The Milwaukee Arts Board (MAB) was created to enhance the development, cultural diversity, accessibility and enjoyment of the arts for Milwaukee's citizens. All regular meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. and are held in Room 301-A of City Hall, 200 E. Dates and location are subject to change.

😺 Perform a 1 minute monologue. (It is highly encouraged that it be at least partially memorized.)
😸 Be prepared to move your body. Wear loose, flexible clothing and bring a water bottle.
😹 If you play a musical instrument, prepare a short, lively piece of music, no longer than 30 seconds.
😼 You may be asked to read parts of the script with other actors.

“The Ashcan School and The Eight: ‘Creating a National Art’, which opens Sept. 23 and runs through Feb. 19, draws on the museum’s own important collection of works by the Ash Can School and The Eight artists, including Robert Henri, Arthur Bowen Davies, William Glackens, Ernest Lawson, George Luks, Maurice Prendergast, Everett Shinn and John Sloan.”

For this pilot year, the soon-to-be-selected artist will be placed in DPW Milwaukee (Department of Public Works) to develop innovative approaches that will help address reckless driving and create safer, stronger neighborhoods throughout the city.
“In order to solve challenges like the dangers of reckless driving, we need to deploy innovative solutions from a variety of perspectives, including Milwaukee’s arts community. That’s what the PAIR program is all about,” said Ald. Milele A. Coggs, who was recently elected the new Chair of the Milwaukee Arts Board.

Milwaukee Arts Board approved the 𝙋𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 (𝙋𝘼𝙄𝙍) to invest in the city’s cultural creators by leveraging the knowledge and practices of local artists to build a stronger .
Under the PAIR program, a local artist will be hired by a City agency or department to develop, strategize, promote, and implement artist-driven solutions to complex civic challenges. The intended outcome is for the artist and City representatives to assess community needs, as well as develop and improve programs and initiatives through creative problem-solving.
For this pilot year, the soon-to-be-selected artist will be placed in DPW Milwaukee (Department of Public Works) to develop innovative approaches that will help address reckless driving and create safer, stronger neighborhoods throughout the city.
