History and art are coming together this June in the Harbor District BID to create an Indigenous History celebration! 👏

The Indigenous Elegance: A Celebration of Culture and Identity Fashion Show featuring Native fashion designer Sabrina Lombardo, founder of Native Nation Designs, is a free, family-friendly event open to the public taking place June 14 at the Harbor View Plaza (600 E Greenfield Ave) from 5 to 8 p.m. 👗

The event will be open to the public starting at 5 p.m., and the fashion show will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.

This showcase will only feature one of a kind Native Nation garments and accessories that aim to uplift and highlight Indigenous culture and voices in Milwaukee, but the fashion show isn't the only thing community members can look forward to! Community members will be able to purchase items from local indigenous merchants and purchase food from local vendors, while enjoying music from local cumbia DJ artists Ambulante Y Clandestino!

We look forward to honoring and celebrating the diverse indigenous cultures in our city with the Harbor District Milwaukee first ever fashion show! Joy Engine is proud to sponsor this event through our 2024 Community Challenge Grant! 🎉

Happy ! We are celebrating 18 years of Mad Hot in 2023-24! 18 years ago we started Mad Hot in just 3 schools. The program quickly spread, and this year the program is in 48 classrooms in 38 schools! The program is thriving and we have a great bunch of dancers ready to show off their new skills! The mission and motivation of Mad Hot have always centered around the kids, and it remains the same after 18 years. Mad Hot Rhythm, formerly Mad Hot Ballroom and Tap, will culminate in a Competition at the UW Panther Arena on April 25, 2024 starting at 10am.

We hope you can join us as we celebrate 18 years of Mad Hot dancing! This event is and open to the public at the UW-Panther Arena. More information to be announced soon! Follow us to stay in step ✅✨
