The music wasn't the only thing bringing people together at Symphony in the Park. 🎶💚

With the support of our amazing community and the Missoula Symphony, Missoula Food Bank & Community Center raised 619 pounds of food donations!

Preparing for a new school year takes a community, and we’re thankful for partners who step up to support local students. 💙

Thanks to the generosity of Montana Educators' Credit Union we were able to fill our shelves with school supplies for local kids getting ready to head back to the classroom. For many families, the cost of back-to-school shopping can be a real challenge, and support like this helps ease that burden.

On Wednesday, we'll share these supplies with students at our Back to School Bash, helping them start the year with the tools they need and the confidence that comes from being prepared.

Empty Bowls, Full Souls: The Story Behind the Soup

What does an empty bowl mean to you?

For many of us, it's simply a bowl waiting to be filled. But for thousands of people in our community, an empty bowl can represent something much more profound: uncertainty. It can mean wondering how to stretch groceries until payday, skipping meals so children can eat, or facing the difficult reality of food insecurity.

That's why we gather around soup.

Soup is one of the simplest meals we share. It brings warmth on a cold day, comfort during difficult times, and people together around the table. It nourishes not only our bodies, but also our sense of community. This year, we're honored to partner with Missoula's own SoupFarm whose delicious soups will help bring that spirit of care and connection to our event.

Every ticket purchased, every bowl chosen, and every donation made helps support the work of Missoula Food Bank & Community Center, ensuring our neighbors have access to healthy, nutritious food when they need it most.

One empty bowl reminds us why this work matters.

This Sunday, join MFB&CC and Missoula Symphony for an unforgettable evening of music, community, and giving back. Grab your lawn chairs, pack a picnic, and enjoy one of Missoula’s favorite summer traditions while helping us reach our goal of collecting 2,000+ pounds of food for local families.

💚 Helping Our Community Access Vital Resources 💚

MFB&CC knows that access to nutritious food is just one part of building a healthy, thriving community. Yet through our SNAP, LIHEAP, and Medicaid Application Assistance program, we have had the privilege of working directly with our customers to better understand our community and its needs! So far this year, we have had 2 record breaking months for SNAP applications submitted! Check out our YTD numbers!

Together with our community:
✅ 157 SNAP applications submitted
👧 73 children included on submitted applications
🏥 12 households approved for Medicaid benefits
🗳️ 6 voter registrations completed

Each application represents a neighbor taking an important step toward accessing the support they deserve, and we want to say thank you to everyone who trusts us as a resource and to our team members who provide guidance, support, and advocacy every day.

When our community works together, we eat together. 💚

Need of the Week: Let’s make a little room for sweetness! 🍰

This week, our shelves are in need of granulated sugar, cooking oil, and flour! These pantry staples help our neighbors create meals, bake treats, and keep their kitchens stocked with the basics.

If you’re able to pick up an extra bag of flour, a bottle of cooking oil, or a bag of sugar during your next grocery trip, consider donating it to Missoula Food Bank & Community Center. Every item makes a difference—and together, we can rise to the occasion for our community!
