🗳️ What is Measure HOM - the 2026 Housing Overlay Ballot Measure?

ℹ️ Measure HOM is an upcoming measure on the Nov. 3, 2026 General Election ballot that will allow Monterey Park voters to decide whether to amend the Monterey Park Land Use and Urban Design Element.

🔒 The measure excludes most existing residential zones. It also maintains the Citywide prohibition on data centers.

✅➡️If approved by voters, the measure would allow the creation of "housing overlays" to permit flexible housing and mixed-use development on currently vacant or underutilized commercial and industrial properties.

🗳️ What is Measure AAA - the 2026 Transient Occupancy Tax Ballot Measure?

ℹ️ Measure AAA is an upcoming measure on the Nov. 3 General Election ballot that will allow Monterey Park voters to decide whether to increase the City's Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT), also known as a hotel tax.

The tax is collected by the lodging business from guests and then remitted to the City to support general municipal services. If approved by voters, the measure would:
🔵 Increase the standard TOT from 13% to 14% for hotels, motels and similar lodging.
🔵 Increase the TOT for short-term rentals from 13% to 16%.
