Honoring the Heroes Who Serve Naperville! 🚒🇺🇸

The Naperville CAPS - Citizens Appreciate Public Safety Board was proud to host our recent Naperville Fire Department Awards Ceremony, recognizing the extraordinary men and women of the Naperville Fire Department who dedicate their lives to protecting our community.

It was a special evening celebrating the courage, professionalism, commitment, and selflessness that define our firefighters/paramedics and the important role they play in keeping Naperville safe.

We are grateful to all of our Naperville first responders and their families for the sacrifices they make every day. Their willingness to answer the call, often under the most challenging circumstances, is something we should never take for granted.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and helped make this evening possible.

Our community is stronger and safer because of those who serve.

Please join Naperville CAPS - Citizens Appreciate Public Safety in welcoming Officer Jack Frakes to the Naperville Police Department! 🚔👏

Officer Frakes comes to us from the Addison Police Department. A Lombard native and Glenbard East graduate, he served 9 months in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division — answering the call to serve his country before answering the call to serve our community.
Family is everything to Jack. He comes from a tight-knit family, and his is about to grow — he's a newly expecting father. 🤍

We're grateful for officers like Jack, who have already given so much and still choose to give more. Please help us wish Officer Frakes and his growing family all the best as he starts this next chapter!

We are so grateful for the community that shows UP for our first responders! Today Coors Banquet provided food for our fire and police personnel!

They also graciously donated $400 to Naperville CAPS - Citizens Appreciate Public Safety to allow us to continue our mission of recognizing first responders for exemplary work in the community!

🚒🚓🚁 Naperville Public Safety Open House!

Today was a great opportunity for the community to see our first responders in action at the Naperville Public Safety Open House!

Visitors got an up-close look at the people, equipment, and services that help keep Naperville safe, including demonstrations of proper fire safety procedures. And, of course, the arrival of a helicopter was a highlight for kids and adults alike! 🚁

Events like this are a great way to connect our community with the men and women who serve Naperville every day and to learn more about the important work they do.

A big thank you to our Naperville Police Department and Naperville Fire Department and all of our public safety partners for putting on a fantastic event! 🇺🇸

🇺🇸

Yesterday, the Naperville community gathered at the Commander Dan Shanower Memorial to remember and honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who ran toward danger to protect others.

We are grateful to have stood alongside Naperville Police Chief and Naperville Fire Chief as our community came together to remember those we lost, honor our first responders, and reflect on the meaning of service and sacrifice.

The events of September 11 changed our nation forever. But they also reminded us of the extraordinary courage, compassion, and unity that can emerge in the face of tragedy.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Today, we welcomed new officers, celebrated promotions, and thanked a leader for a career of dedicated service to Naperville.

Choosing public safety means choosing to show up when someone is in need — often on their worst day. It takes courage, compassion, and commitment. And the job cannot be done alone.

Today we proudly swore in:

• Eleftheria Lolis
• Eric Sousanes
• Frank Ambrose
• Skyler Brdar
• Reyna Cortez

Congratulations to:

• Andrew Schroeder — Sergeant
• Jonathan Pope — Commander
• Richard Arsenault — Deputy Chief

Thank you for choosing Naperville and committing yourselves to serving our community. And to your families — thank you for sharing them with us. While you’re at home, they’re out protecting our community. We will always be grateful for your support and sacrifice.

We also said farewell to Deputy Chief Jason Zbrozek as he begins his retirement. Thank you, Jason, for your commitment and dedication to keeping Naperville safe. Your impact on our community has been immense.
