A Simple Way to Help JCHC—At No Cost to You! ❤️

Did you know you can support the Jessamine County Homeless Coalition every time you shop at Kroger without spending an extra penny?
It only takes about 2–3 minutes to link your Kroger Plus Card to JCHC through Kroger Community Rewards. After that, every eligible grocery purchase you make, whether you shop in-store or online, helps Kroger make donations to our organization.

Simply log into your Kroger account, go to Community Rewards, and enter our nonprofit number: EX677.

It's quick. It's free. It's automatic. And over time, those donations make a real difference in helping us provide shelter, meals, and hope to those experiencing homelessness in our community.

Thank you for taking a few minutes to support JCHC. Every grocery trip can help change a life. ❤️

☀️ JCHC's Cooling Station is now open during Heat Advisories.

With temperatures climbing into the mid-90s or higher this week, we're opening our doors to help keep our community safe. If you need a place to cool down, get out of the heat, and enjoy some cold water, stop by.

📍 218 East Maple Street, Nicholasville

Everyone is welcome unless you have previously been trespassed from the property.
Please help us spread the word. A few minutes in the air conditioning can make a real difference during extreme heat.

Stay safe. Stay hydrated. Stay cool. ❤️

Friends of Nicholasville and Jessamine County,

This is Johnny Templin, Outreach Coordinator for the Jessamine County Homeless Coalition, and today I'm coming to you with one of the most urgent requests we have made in our nearly 10-year history.

Right now, we have less than 25 days of operating funds remaining.

Unless our situation changes, we are projected to exhaust our available operating cash during the first half of July. That projection already includes the recurring donations we expect to receive.

Today, there are 10 to 12 people calling our shelter home. Every day, we also provide meals and assistance to members of our community who have nowhere else to turn. Beyond our shelter walls, many of you know us from our Thanksgiving and Christmas community meals, outreach efforts, and countless acts of service over the years.

We understand these are difficult times. Families everywhere are facing higher grocery bills, higher insurance costs, higher taxes, and uncertainty about the future. We know because we face those same challenges every day.
For nearly a decade, we have worked hard to be responsible stewards of every dollar entrusted to us.

Our organization is still operated almost entirely by volunteers. Our Executive Director works approximately 60 hours per week coordinating shelter operations, case management, fundraising, volunteer efforts, compliance requirements, and the daily needs of those we serve. Even with those responsibilities, her compensation is modest compared to the work she performs. Everyone else who helps keep this mission moving forward does so on a volunteer basis.

Through careful budgeting and cost-cutting, we have actually reduced our operating budget compared to when we first opened our doors.
That may sound unbelievable.

When the Jessamine County Homeless Coalition opened, our first-year operating budget was approximately $86,000. Today, despite significantly higher rent, dramatically increased insurance costs, and rising expenses across the board, we operate on approximately $72,000 annually..... about $6,000 per month.
Think about that for a moment.

For roughly $200 per day, we provide shelter, utilities, meals, showers, laundry services, case management, and hope for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Every dollar matters.

Every donation helps keep the lights on, meals served, showers running, beds available, and hope alive for those who need it most.
If just 120 people gave $50, our immediate funding crisis would be resolved.

Today, we ask you to prayerfully consider making a donation. Whether it's $5, $25, $50, or more, your gift will directly help keep our doors open and our services available to those who need them most.

If you cannot give financially, please keep us in your prayers and help us by sharing this post with friends, family, churches, businesses, and anyone who may be willing to help.

For nearly 10 years, Jessamine County has helped us serve those who needed a hand up. Today, we're asking for that same community spirit once again.

Our shelter residents are blessed every day because of a community that continues to step up when needs arise.

This week, we are asking for help with some cleaning and sanitation supplies that help us keep the shelter safe, healthy, and welcoming for those we serve.

Most importantly, please keep JCHC, our residents, our staff, and our volunteers in your prayers.

If you are able, please prayerfully consider making a monetary donation as well. Financial gifts allow us to respond quickly to needs as they arise and help keep our doors open to those who need a hand up.

Even if you're unable to give at this time, you can still make a huge difference by sharing this post. Every share helps us reach someone who may be able to help.

Thank you for being part of what God is doing through this ministry and through our community.

"Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God."
