The Charleston County Board of Voter Registration and Elections is responsible for conducting all county, state, and federal elections that are held in Charleston County. The nine-mem

ber Charleston County Board of Voter Registration and Elections is appointed by the Governor upon the recommendation of the Charleston County Legislative Delegation. An Executive Director is appointed by the Board to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Charleston County Board of Voter Registration and Elections Office.

🚨 CLOSING SOON: Student Voter Ambassador Program applications are due August 31!

Want to build real-world experience while helping fellow students become more informed and engaged voters? The Charleston County Board of Voter Registration & Elections is looking for students to join our Student Voter Ambassador Program.

As a Student Voter Ambassador, you’ll:

• Learn how elections and voting work in South Carolina & Charleston County

• Build skills in leadership, communication, public speaking, event planning, community engagement, research & data collection

• Connect with your peers through voter registration drives and peer-to-peer outreach

• Gain hands-on experience collecting student feedback and helping us better understand young voters

• Build your résumé & professional portfolio with meaningful, measurable experience

• Earn an official Student Voter Ambassador pin & Certificate of Completion signed by the Executive Director

Whether you’re interested in government, public policy, law, communications, nonprofit work, or simply making a difference in your community, this is an opportunity to gain experience that goes beyond the classroom.

Applications close August 31, 2026.
