Today Airmen and local first responders came together at Will Rogers ANGB to honor those who were lost 25 years ago on September 11th.

We especially remember because we were there. The 137th had one of the first aircraft back in the air in the aftermath to provide donated blood to New York. We will never forget.

Last week, I had the incredible honor of flying with Capt. Dalton ‘Pocket’ Scott at the Oklahoma Air National Guard’s 137th Special Operations Wing in the OA-1K Skyraider II.

As one of this next-gen aircraft’s first cadre pilots, Capt. Scott is helping pioneer new tactics and integrate cutting-edge mission systems that will define the next era of special operations aviation. Airmen like those at the 137th SOW are the reason our National Guard, our special operations forces and the entire Joint Force stay ready to win — anywhere, anytime.

Engineering installation with the 137th Special Operations Wing and 133rd Airlift Wing trained together in joint-readiness Exercise Thunderwolf.

Squadrons used their technical expertise to rapidly deploy and sustain communications infrastructure in contested environments. Airmen also refined their skills in electronic systems, vehicle maintenance and high-ground infrastructure while operating under simulated oppositional forces and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats.

An educational day at 137th Special Operations Wing 2026 Flight Fest! 🎉

Oklahoma students were invited to Will Rogers Air National Guard Base to learn about the 137th SOW’s mission and get to have a close-up look at equipment utilized by citizen Air Commandos.

These events inform students of the role of the Air National Guard and future careers they can pursue.

Engineering installation Airmen from the 133rd Airlift Wing and the 137th Special Operations Wing joined forces at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma for Exercise Thunderwolf. Together these units tested their ability to rapidly deploy, install and engineer vital communications networks within a simulated austere or contested environment.
