A suspected human trafficker thought he was bringing a woman to meet a customer at a south OKC hotel. What he didn't know was that the “customer” was one of our undercover detectives.

Our Vice Unit had responded to an online ad as part of an undercover investigation and was given the hotel location. The suspect, 35-year-old Philip Gatson, arrived with the woman before our detective met with her and agreed on a price for commercial s*x.

The investigation led to Gatson’s arrest on a complaint of human trafficking. 👏🏻

A mother received photos of her son beaten and bloody along with a message demanding money for his release. Our officers made sure this kidnapping ended with the victim safe and five suspects behind bars.

The victim’s mother contacted police after receiving messages from her son’s phone threatening to kill him if the ransom wasn’t paid. We used cellphone location data and details visible in photos and videos to track him to a home in south Oklahoma City.

Inside, we found the victim and ultimately took five suspects into custody.

The suspects now face charges including kidnapping for extortion, conspiracy to commit a felony and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. A search also turned up 90 grams of methamphetamine and fi****ms.

The OKC FOP donated $5,000 to The Come Up Inc., which works with kids in our community through mentorship, martial arts and life-skills programs.

As law enforcement officers, we see the difference that structure, mentorship and strong community programs can make for young people. We've sponsored The Come Up's annual fundraiser for the past three years, and we're proud to continue that partnership.

Executive Director Emmanuel Rivera stopped by to accept the donation alongside OKC FOP President Rob Gallavan and our new Vice President Tyler Duncan.

For the SECOND TIME in a week, a driver thought going 100mph and racing into oncoming traffic would be enough to get away from our officers. Spoiler alert: it wasn't. 😤

The chase began after we attempted a traffic stop in SW OKC and 37-year-old Aaron Wigington took off, blowing through stop signs and repeatedly crossing into oncoming traffic. With innocent drivers at risk, we made the call to back off and find another way to track him down.

Our investigation eventually led us to the vehicle, but Wigington took off running again. After searching through a nearby neighborhood, we found him hiding inside a box in a home he allegedly broke into and took him into custody.

A man is now facing charges after running from police twice in a matter of days.

A 22-year-old woman is dead after an allegedly drunk teenage driver was speeding and recording a video on his phone behind the wheel.

Our officers arrested the 17-year-old after he struck Raynesha Scyrus as she rode a scooter home from work. The impact threw Scyrus into the bed of his truck, but the teen continued driving and did not call 911 until about two hours later.

He was taken into custody on complaints of DUI, manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal accident. A judge set his bond at $100,000 and ordered that he not drive if released.

This was a devastating and preventable loss of life. Our thoughts are with Raynesha’s family as they grieve their daughter.

The victim's mother said she wants the teen suspect charged as an adult. Police arrested him on complaints of DUI, manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Our officers recently tried to stop a motorcyclist without a tag when he led us on a 100mph pursuit into oncoming traffic.

With other drivers in danger, we made the call not to chase him at those speeds but continued to track him down. When we located him hiding under a bridge, he took off on foot toward I-40.

He didn't get very far. We easily caught up with him and took him into custody. 👏🏻

The suspect, Nickolas Kelley, now faces complaints of eluding, reckless driving, speeding and multiple tag violations.
