If your street is listed and happens to be a collection day please be sure to put your items to the curb NO LATER THAN 6PM the night before. Crews will be out early to accommodate. If you put your trash/recycling items out late we will not be back until the next collection date, so be sure to plan accordingly. If you have a metal pick up, we will schedule you for the next available date.

All issues with road closures/opening will need to be discussed with officers on site and any issues or complaints should be directed to Crossroads Pavement Maintenance.

The Paramus Senior bus will be offering bus trips for seniors 55+ to the Paramus Pool beginning July 2nd until Labor Day weekend. This bus will run every Thursday (pending closures due to weather) and pick up will start at 11am to allow riders access at opening time which is noon. The bus will pick riders back up at 3pm. Please be sure to register with the pool PRIOR to scheduling a ride with us.

Yesterday we were called to rescue some baby ducklings from a storm drain. We thought we got them all but residents in the area heard one more so we went back later to try to get him with no luck...this morning we sent our duck whisperers, and they were able to get this little guy out! Huey, Dewey, Louie and Darkwing are all safe and have been brought to a local animal hospital that has a bird specialist on staff. Thanks to TYCO for bringing the 3 little ones yesterday and giving us the info on where to take them so he can be reunited with his siblings!

If you hear or see an animal stuck in a storm drain you can give our office a call between 7am and 2:30pm (we are in the office until 4:30 but have no staff); you can email us at [email protected] or you can call TYCO and if they need our assistance they will contact us. If you think it is emergent and cannot get in touch with TYCO please call the police NON-emergency line and they will have them dispatched.

Please do not try to catch wild animals as this can be a danger to yourself and possibly the animal as well. You can also try researching wildlife rehab centers to see if any of those places can assist. We would of course still need to come to open the storm drain but at least they are qualified to handle the animals!

Don't forget the Paramus Senior bus can pick you up and drop you off! The bus schedule for the pool is Thursdays until Labor Day and pick up starts at 11am to have everyone there for opening at noon. You can hang out and grab some rays until 3pm to go back home just in time for an early dinner! After all that sun and splashing a nice early dinner and some relaxation is just what we all need!

Please be sure to register for the pool prior to registering for the bus. You can stop by the Recreation office to do so. Once you have registered for the pool please be sure to reach out to us via email [email protected] or phone 201-265-2100 ext 3150 and we will advise what information is required from you!

Open to riders 55+ and yes, we are wheelchair accessible! No, you may not bring your kids/grandkids or fur babies on the bus with you (unless they are a medical service animal). If your grandchild or child is 18+ and serves as your aid (kind of like a service pet? 😂 don't tell them we said that), yes, they may go with you but must also register for the pool (unless you have a guest pass) and also register for the bus!
